Chapter 113 - Arrested
A shield made of flame blocked the scissors from cutting Elliot in half. Connor raised his staff, his right eye glowing red.
"Mr. Godfather…" Hope trailed off, watching Connor's skin slowly burn and melt away, revealing the dark lava-like skin of his morphed form. "Are you okay?"
"Yes," Connor grunted, thrusting his staff that made the shield jolt forward, blowing the knight away. He took a deep breath, as if he was containing pain within himself. "I'm fine, Hope. Don't worry.
"Connor, are you really okay?" Lance asked, putting up a fortress against the knights. "You seem to be morphing."
"I'm fine," Connor smiled at him. "Maybe I'm just tired."
Elliot slashed the knight with his sword continuously, letting it reach its limit before he kicked it away. The strings from the mages started to dissipate, vanishing as their mana started depleting.
"They're done," Lance smirked and rushed forward. Letting his swords glow with their bright colors, Lance crossed them in front of him. "Black and White Annihilation."
His swords blasted the beams, engulfing the knights along with the mages with its power. The people from the party above them panicked after feeling the intense earthquake that Lance caused from beneath.
"What was that?"
"Did something happen?"
"Why isn't Lord Caezar here?"
…
Putting his sword back to their holders, Lance turned and saw the amazed look in his friends eyes. "What?"
"That never failed to amaze me," Elliot let out. "It was so amazing."
Seeing that the mages had fallen, Elliot had ensure to keep the bodies of the Knights in his Inventory. It was his last slot too.
They made their way through the corridors of the lord's castle without running into any more trouble. The veil Lance had covered them with was working. The night was dark, causing their cover to camouflage more.
As the group progressed with their rescue, a hooded man walked over to Lance. He took the end of the veil and raised it, seeing the prisoners who all gasped.
The man used some kind of light magic to cancel the veil, revealing all the Seductors whom the group tried to save.
"Prince Lance," the man sighed and walked in front of Lance. "Your father has heard of the rumours about this, but he had never expected it to be true. My name is Ryan Grinfacet and I came here for you. Especially, what you have done."
"Those colors, that sign…" Lance trailed off as he saw the gold line that ran from the man's right sleeve over his hood, and through his other sleeve. A badge was on the man's chest, a badge of gold with an eagle's head. Under the head was a leaf crown that ran to the top of the eagle's head. "You're the Kingdom Police."
Kingdom Police are Officers that ranks above most of them. They are a special division where they specialize in investigating cases. The only Officers above the Policemen were the Kingdom Generals and the Kingdom Division Captains.
"That is right," Ryan said, walking dramatically in front of them. He tucked his hands behind his back and started to walk in circles. "I am here to implement justice equally. You have proven your uncle Lord Caezar's crimes, but you have to answer to yours."
His friends looked at one another, utterly confused as to what the policeman was saying.
"What did Lance do?" Elliot asked. "He was invited to the party and was allowed to bring guests over. What crimes did he commit?"
"The destruction of Caezar Palace dungeon is a crime, Mister Max. If you did not know that, well now you do. Destroying other people's property, that's a no-no," Ryan said and clicked his tongue to prove his point. "I have investigated this case for a week and to think that the prince himself would go and act like he owns the law."
"Lance is a prince," Connor argued. "And the Crowned Prince at that. Technically, his word is the law."
"That is true, Mr. Carp. You're all very wise, I see," Ryan nodded. "However, the moment he signed his precious name to become a barbarian, is the moment he threw his right to the throne away. His father had given him second, third, fourth, countless chances and he blew them all like the candles in his birthday. Now, as a man who executes righteousness and equality, I hereby invite Prince Lance Alorde of Avancia to the Royal Palace in two weeks time for trial. This order is hereby declared by I, Ryan Grinfacet, and will not be revoked until I say so. Good day."
–
"Impossible!" Midnight growled after hearing the word. Apparently, Lance had called Midnight and Luck to help him in case Lord Caezar tries to escape.
Midnight took the lord to a Royal Officer they had contacted, one that they could trust.
After the incident, they got back to Elliot's old home since all the Seductors couldn't fit in the guild. There were approximately 400 of them and the only place they know that's near was Elliot's cottage.
They set up their camps for the night and tomorrow, they will be set to go back to the North. Elliot, Lance and even Hope do not know any part of the plan since Connor and Ed did the planning themselves. They even said they had a surprise for them.
"So you mean, you will go back to the palace in two weeks?" Luck asked. When Lance nodded, the man scoffed. "Bullsh*t. I bet your idiot of a father planned this to get you back again. This is not the first time Lance. But this time they're actually desperate. They want to arrest you for that?"
"That is quite confusing," Midnight said. "We go to beasts' dens all the time since they were trying to gain power to kill us, Lord Caezar did the same, so technically he's a beast, but then you get arrested for it? That's preposterously naive."
"I bet it's that Hoot," Hope suddenly said, making everyone turn to him. "I smell something fishy about her. My gut tells her she's evil deep inside. And let me tell you, a dragon's gut seldom lies."
"But she's the one that helped us get inside when Lance almost got married, remember?" Elliot pointed out, making Hope form an O with his mouth and slowly nod.
"But my dragon gut is bothered by her. It seems like she's hiding something," Hope muttered. "But she helped us. Argh! I don't know anymore."
"Since when do you know sh*t?" Luck rolled his eyes and walked out of the cottage. Before he was gone completely, he turned to the group and tilted his head. "If you're gonna lead these guys to the North, you might as well get ready to be in the palace right after, Lance. Their home is a week away on foot. Since you have to return, that's two weeks. Your feet better be suited for the long walk."
"Who says anything about walking though?" Hope wiggled his eyebrows and grinned.
Luck scrunched his face, "What in the hell are you talking about?"
–
"This is f*cking amazing!" Luck yelled, feeling the breeze as they flew swiftly against the clouds. "Hope, you little f*cker, you do know sh*t!"
"Why does he have to curse so much?" Hope asked Lance who was on top of him.
He was in his dragon form with his party members riding him. As a prominent figure in Dracon, he asked the citizens of the realm for a request and they all agreed instantly.
His request was for them to assist him take the Seductors to the North with the help of the dragons. Each dragon would carry around 4 people in their backs as they travel up North, making it seem like they were a huge herd of dragons.
They even had to walk to a nearby mountain to avoid alerting the city. Seeing that the number of dragons could bring up an Alpha Strike warning.
When they arrived at the northern city gate, two familiar people stood and waved their hands in front of unknown group of people.
"I-Is that…" Elliot trailed off.
"Yo!" Ripple yelled. "Welcome to Colleau!"
"Wow," Elliot got off Hope and hugged his old friend. He turned to Frost and wrapped her in his arms too. "I missed you guys. How have you been?"
"We actually have discovered that we belong in a tribe of Ice Fae," Frost said. "The Ice Fae tribe of Colleau was the race who coexisted with the captured Seductors."
"Wow," Elliot gasped. "What a small world it is."
"Yeah," Ripple nodded. "If Connor here did not contact us, we wouldn't have known that they were alive. Thank you guys. And, how have you been?"
Elliot smirked and chuckled, "Where should I start? Oh, I know. Hope, shift back."
Hope, in his dragon form, nodded and slowly reverted into his human form. The people along with Ripple and Frost gasped as they saw the largest dragon of the herd morph into a human.
"That's Hope?!" Ripple yelled. "Hope, your morphing ability is awesome! You could match the highest Morph Adventurers in no time."
"Yeah," Hope chuckled. "I-It's nice seeing you both. Ms. Ripple… a-and Miss Frost."
His friends looked at each other with a knowing smirk. They huddled and playfully whispered.
"Our little dragon boy has a crush."
