Chapter 114 - Levitican The Flaming
Their talk continued until it was nighttime again. The other dragons had fled, Hope thanking them and promised he would visit Dracon soon.
"Hope, are you sure?" Volt pouted. "We miss you, you know. Even Kian does not want to return."
"I'm sure you'll be able to handle everything," Hope said. "You guys are awesome, if you must know."
Florian giggled and formed a flower crown in his hand. "Please accept this. They said you are the last Supreme Dragon Emperor, and I hope it won't be the case."
"I can't promise you anything," Hope chuckled and let the older man put on the crown.
"Goodbye Hope, we will see you later," Shadow said as they synchronously morphed and flew away.
The group had another round of small talk and were about to fly back home for Lance's trial when a large flaming portal appeared in front of them. They others brandishing their swords while they await for anything to happen. The immense aura from inside the portal was intimidating.
"Frost, fire a warning shot," Ripple said and her sister nodded.
She took her bow and fired an icicle arrow to the portal. When it was about to enter it, a flaming ball clashed with the arrow, evaporating it from existence.
"Foolish Terrans!" a voice from inside the portal chuckled. Everyone fell silent once again, waiting for the owner of the voice to come out. "You think you can defeat our Ruler? You think you can?! Why did you summon the Heir?!"
Lance raised his white sword and fired a beam against it. Once again, it was countered by an attack from inside. But this time, it was a flaming beam instead of an orb.
They heard loud thumps from inside the portal. It seemed like a giant beast inside was incoming, slowly walking as at carried its large body.
"You think you can hide the trash they called the Infernal Heir under our noses after summoning him?!" the voice yelled. "Well, that's where you're wrong! The Ruler is the only Ruler and you shall bend down his glory!"
The thumping sound got faster. Whatever the beast inside was running full force ahead. This prompted Elliot to look at Lance, thinking that they needed some kind of shield.
"Lance, a fortress!" Elliot yelled.
Lance jumped from Hope's back and casted his fortress right in front of the portal. A black and white fortress that was put up. Two walls that was parted diagonally with the black on top and the white on the bottom.
The flaming elephant's two front feet were the ones that came our first, lifting high in the air and slammed itself on the barrier. Lance grunted, feeling the weight of the gigantic beast on his fortress.
Hope hovered above the portal and fired his gray beam at it. The elephant's feet, which were the only ones visible, retreated inside the portal and avoided the beam. After a few seconds, Hope paused and waited.
The elephant flared its trumpet-like sound inside before dashing outside the portal in full speed. A flaming and horned helmet was in its head as it clashed it with the fortress, shattering the protection like glass.
A short man with dark glasses sat on top of the elephant. He had reins on the beast like it was his horse. His head was bald but a flaming Mohawk was in it, as if it was his hair.
"I am Levitican the Flaming," Levitican introduced. "I am the Ruler's General of Defense."
"Why are you here?" Lance asked. He formed the wings from his sword and hovered in front of Levitican to assert dominance and intimidation. "We have not dealt any issues or contact with Inferno, why are you attacking us?"
"It seemed like the dragons took their stan on this, what a shame," Levitican ignored Lance. "I guess we'll burn them along with the Terrans and the Heir."
"True Frost!"
An arrow made of pure ice was blocked by Levitican with nothing but a small flame in his hand. He glared at Frost who has her eyes widened in fear.
"I never actually thought you were this pathetic," Levitican chuckled. He looked down for a few seconds and lifted his head back up, his flaming hair was now burning even hotter, burning brighter and larger. His eyes glowed with an orange color, his flames traveling to the elephant too, seemingly buffing the beast with him. "I will burn you all!"
"Infernal–"
"Stop," Elliot instantly stopped Connor from casting the spell. "They're here for you, but they don't know you yet. Don't let them a chance to know."
"O-Okay," Connor said and retracted his weapons.
The elephant opened its mouth and raised its trunk, screaming. In between his tusks was a sphere made of flames. The sphere grew larger and larger until it fired the flames.
Lance deactivated his wings and blocked the flames with his sword. The attack was strong. So strong that even Lance had a hard time with it.
"Elliot a little help here?" Lance yelled when he couldn't take the attack anymore. With power alone, he could deal with the attack, easy. But then the heat from it was something that he could not tolerate for long.
Elliot leaped from Hope, diving down and slamming his sword on top of the elephant's head. It groaned in pain, raising its front legs and stomped on the ground, wildly bouncing.
"Enhanced Lotus Blast!" Elliot sunk his sword deeper, driving the petals and the flower of his atrack inside its skull, cutting its head in pieces and blowing it up with the last strike.
"Woah," Ripple and Frost awed at the sight. They looked at each other with amazed eyes.
Elliot landed on the ground on one knee. He flicked his sword to get rid of the blood, staring into the covered eyes of Levitican as the large beast's body it ride slowly fell.
"If this is a general of your Realm, I don't think your Ruler would be quite strong," Elliot mocked.
'Kill.'
Without removing his gaze at the shorter man, he walked closer. Seeing the yellow symbol in his chest that he did not see for so long.
"Will you look at that, Elliot has finally found competition with his height," Lance teased. They lightly laughed but stopped after seeing that Elliot did not have any signs of stopping. "Hey, Elliot?"
"What skill will you give me?" Elliot grinned devilishly. He raised his sword and was about to strike when a ring made of flames appeared on his legs. The ring tightened around his legs, making them lose his balance and fall on the ground.
"You think you can kill me just like that?" Levitican chuckled and formed another flame ring, this time it was tied to Elliot's chest. "Now, burn."
"I'm sorry." Elliot looked at Lance with a tear falling from his eye before the flames swallowed him whole.
"Flame Override!" Connor yelled.
Everyone looked at each other when Elliot did not scream in pain. Instead, he was laughing.
"Oh, my God. I'm ticklish! No, stop!" Ellliot snorted. "What the hell is happening?"
Ed jumped from Hope and cancelled the flame around Elliot. He dragged the boy away, while Levitican was left puzzled.
"B-But I made sure to have killed you…" he trailed off with bamboozled eyes. He had found himself looking up, a boy with blonde hair pointed his staff at Elliot, his hand shaking as the lava-like skin slowly ran up to his arms.
"Mr. Godfather, what's wrong?" Hope asked.
Connor's hand wad shaking like mad. He started to pant as drips of sweat poured from his forehead.
Hope descended, landing on the ground and taking Connor down. The others walked over to them, all worried about what happened.
"Connor, are you okay?" Elliot asked, shaking his friend gently.
"I-I…" Connor stuttered. He took a deep breath before his eyes lit up with a bright orange color.
"Ah, the Heir!" Levitican cheered. "I have found the Heir!"
They looked at him while he raised his hands in the air. "The Ruler will reward me handsomely for this."
"Not a chance!" Elliot yelled. He pointed his sword at Levitican, "Listen, short man. You will not take neither kill Connor, you hear?"
"Oh, okay, I won't," Levitican slowly lowered his hands. A grin formed in his face and he jolted them back up. "I will summon those who will do it for me, instead!"
Flaming rings appeared in the air. Elliot knew what it was and when a hand appeared from inside each ring, he gasped, he nodded, realizing that his guess was right.
"They're portals."
