Chapter 65.1 The Parlor Lord Is as Petty as They Come (1/2)
On a great sea blanketed by dense fog—a massive ship was moving onward to its destination.
Wang Ke sat on the deck, and a group of demons were gathered around him.
“Brothers, I never said I wanted to board the ship!” Wang Ke was annoyed.
These demons are just too passionate! Not only did they drag me out of the capital, they even flew me to the Miasmic Sea! Darn it!
The Miasmic Sea was an inland body of water located at the mortal zone’s border. The surface was covered with poisonous miasma all year round, thus mortals would rarely approach it.
Wang Ke just then got to know the demons had a base there. They called it “Divine Dragon Island,” which served as a chapter for the demonic sect.
The demons fled from the Qing Capital; they were worried that the righteous faction would go after them, so they chose to directly head over to the island to regroup and recover.
But, I don’t want to go!
Wang Ke tried hard to excuse himself, but he was still forced to board the ship and enter the foggy Miasmic Sea.
Divine Dragon Island? Crap. Don’t tell me there’s a Divine Dragon Sect! Wang Ke inwardly cursed on the ship.
He did not know whether it was a fortunate or unfortunate situation. But, no matter what, the situation was dire; he had to somehow prevent the demons from learning that he was Chen Tianyuan’s disciple.
“Wang Ke? We really gotta hand it to you!”
“Yeah, all of us would have died if you hadn’t killed She Miejue in time!”
“You scurried away first, and we thought you weren’t coming back. But then you surprised us with your faithfulness!”
“Wang Ke, if anyone in the demonic sect tries to trouble you, tell him my name!”

The group of demonic disciples were passionate as they expressed their gratitude to Wang Ke.
Wang Ke: “…………………………..!”
He was between a rock and a hard place. Back then, when I said that I was “one of you,” it was only to make it out alive. How is it that now I really am one of you?I’m a fake!
“He’s not a demonic disciple. He’s not a demon! Cough, cough, cough!” someone said amidst a fit of coughing.
The group turned around, then realized it was the badly injured Zhu Yan who spoke.
“Zhu Yan? What did you just say?” The group of demonic sect disciples stared at him.
“I said he’s not a demonic disciple! He doesn’t even have demonic Qi! He’s lying to you! You need to take him down!” Zhu Yan said fiercely.
Zhu Yan didn’t know that Wang Ke had joined the Heavenly Wolf Sect, but he was certain about the latter not having demonic Qi when he was whipped. If Wang Ke had no demonic Qi, then he was not a disciple of the demonic sect.
Everyone turned to look back at Wang Ke.
Wang Ke was startled. Demonic Qi?I really don’t have any! Most importantly, what is demonic Qi?I have no idea.
Just when he was about to explain himself—
“Piak!”
Someone slapped Zhu Yan. It was a Golden Core demon.
“You… You slapped me?” Zhu Yan covered his face in bewilderment.
“Zhu Yan, don’t assume we don’t dare beat you up just because you’re a grand-nephew of our Parlor Lord. Hell, She Miejue actually set up an array in your royal palace, and you didn’t tell us? That’s your palace! And you just allowed her to do whatever she wanted? How many brothers died because of that! Do you know? I almost died too!” said the demon with a glare.
“Yeah! Your demonic Qi is really intense; you must have eaten many people! You thought about becoming a powerful demon all day, not bothering at all about managing the royal palace. It’s all your fault!” another demon chided.
“Wang Ke has no demonic Qi? Of course, he doesn’t. Didn’t he tell us already? He just entered the demonic sect and knows nothing. He hasn’t even started to commit evil. There would be no iniquities in his body if he hasn’t done any evil deeds; how could he have demonic Qi? Wait until he commits his first sin, then you’ll see. Only then will he have demonic Qi!” The same demon defended Wang Ke.
“You a**, you lied to a bunch of brothers from Wang Ke’s branch who headed to the Zhu Cultivation Town. What happened? They all died there! Haven’t you already done enough harm to Wang Ke? Yet you still want to slander him?”
“Zhu Yan, we are in deep sh*t because of you, and now you’re trying to turn us against our savior? Even if you’re our Parlor Lord’s grand-nephew, I will still beat you up!”
“Little rascal, the Parlor Lord wanted you to act as the emperor, but you lied to him and became a demon in secret? I will teach you a lesson on the Parlor Lord’s behalf!”
“Me too!”

The demons surrounded Zhu Yan on the deck and beat him until he begged for forgiveness. His injuries worsened after the thrashing.
“Everyone, please, everyone, let him off. Do it for me, please!” Wang Ke said with an awkward face.
He wasn’t angry at Zhu Yan because this emperor-friend of his had always given him timely help; once when he was fighting against She Tianba, and this time when he was rescuing Princess Youyue. I was still thinking about how to conceal my lack of demonic Qi. Now that you pointed this out, I don’t even need to explain myself? You truly are my lucky star!
“Humph! Look at him, and look at you! Wang Ke is still protecting you, but you backstabbed and slandered him. Ptooey! What an a**!” A demon gave one last kick before relenting.
The rest beat him up for a little while longer, only feeling satisfied when Zhu Yan was about to fall unconscious.
“Sigh. Zhu Yan, your cultivation is too weak. Don’t try so hard!” Wang Ke patted his shoulder.
“Pffft!”
Zhu Yan vomited another mouthful of blood.
“Okay, keep it down, guys. The Parlor Lord is healing himself in the cabin. Don’t disturb him!” a demon reminded the rest.
Only then did everyone quiet down.
Wang Ke looked toward the cabin and felt worried. Zhu Hongyi was healing She Miejue, while bearing his own deadly wounds. Wang Ke wondered if the woman was going to recover. Will she make it out alive?
The fog didn’t seem to be the only thing in the Miasmic Sea. Wang Ke could hear faint roars of beasts; the demons were also on the alert. He wondered what it was, but he could only wait patiently.
They traveled by ship for three days, until they finally arrived at an island.
