Chapter 279 – Episode 279: Crowned.
Trevor walks toward the door while we are looking at him with confusion, we have no idea that Trevor has some kind of business with Jessica Malice, or is it that he's one of her fans as well? I can't imagine seeing him fangirling Jessica Malice and I don't want to imagine it. Trevor stands in front of the door and he opens it with both of his hands, the creaking sound of the wooden door is echoing throughout the hall. I take a peek at the inside of the throne room since I'm curious what's behind the door, and I see a throne at the end of the room which is 20 meters away from us. Dozens of players are protecting the throne and I can tell these players are strong by the look of their equipment, Kyle and the others are not fazed by them, they're just staring at them and ready to fight when they make a move.
They're surprised to see Trevor is standing in front of us, and they're just gritting their teeth with annoyance and disbelief. Trevor's gaze isn't for them but toward the woman sitting on the throne with a crown on her head, I'm starting to believe that he's really a fan of Jessica Malice. Suddenly Jessica jolts from her seat and stands up with disbelief while staring at Trevor, now I really have no idea what's happening here, why they both are staring at each other like that. Jessica Malice slightly smiles and then she's slowly walking down the steps, she puts her hands on her commanders' shoulders and pushes them away gently so she can walk past through. Trevor is chuckling while staring at her, Jessica smiles and immediately walks toward him, now I know that these two know each other. We are looking at each other and just shrugging, not just us but the players on Jessica's side are also doing the same thing.
Jessica is standing in front of Trevor and she scoffs.
"I'm finally able to see you, Trev. How are you?"
Trevor tilts his head while smiling at her.
"I'm doing great, how about you? I saw your film and it was great. I'm glad you finally made it, I'm happy for you, Jess."
Jessica fixes her head and smiles shyly.
"Wow, really? If you have told me that you want to watch my film then you should have contacted me and I will let you watch the premiere with us."
Trevor shakes his head while chuckling.
"No, I'm good. Anyway, I'm just here to see the famous Jessica Malice that's all. I guess I have to go now after seeing you doing alright and welcome to the game, I guess? I hope you enjoy the game as I do."
Jessica is furrowing her forehead.
"Really? That's it? We haven't talked in months and now you're just going to leave?"
Trevor looks at the players behind her and scoffs.
"My job is done here, and I don't think your allies over there want to see me in here. You know, since I'm so good in this game, they wish to not fight with me, especially when it comes to defending the throne. So, yeah, I'm glad to see you and I just want to tell you that I'm happy that you finally made it. See you later maybe?"
Jessica looks at him and nods.
"How about you stay here and watch? I want to show you that I'm good in this game as well."
Trevor raises his eyebrows while smirking, then he nods and slowly backs away. He leans on the wall beside the door and crosses his arms.
"I'm watching."
Jessica is looking at Trevor with a smile on her face, and then her smile disappears while she's staring at us. Jessica is slowly backing away and her allies are approaching her with their weapons ready in their hands. Kyle is readying his stances and looks at us, he shouts and orders us to get ready. We unsheath our weapons and then ready our stances, Jessica grabs her spear and points it at us.
"Don't let them take the throne! Attack!"
There are no spellcasters and archers, we are just using melee weapons and just charging at the enemy. One of Jessica's commanders or allies is at the front using a massive broadsword that I don't think I can carry that with one hand, he looks around and looks at me. I don't know why but I think he knows that I'm new and low level but then I realize when I look at my armor and weapon since this is the most common and popular armor that Miss Grisell made and sold to players. I know that I can't keep letting anyone protect me so I try my best to handle this guy, but getting a single hit from this guy's broadsword then I will be dead I guess.
I run away from the group while looking back, the guy is chasing me and his gaze is kind of scary. I keep running and try to lure him away since there are only dozens of them and we have twice more players than them. This is perfect because I'm happy to see they lose one player in a battle, but suddenly he leaps toward me and stabs his massive broadsword on the floor, I immediately get stunned by him. He's closing in and slashes his broadsword on my back, it deals 3154 damage and I barely have any HP left but I'm lucky enough to not die from his attack. The stun debuff is gone and so I buff myself to increase my movement speed, I keep running away and then I hear weapons are clashing from behind, I look back and see Ian is holding the guy from me.
Ian looks at me while smirking.
"You should have asked for my help, Allen. You know we got your back."
I tilt my head with confusion but then Aven, Chriss, and Ilvia approach Ian to deal with this guy. Aven and Ilvia are backstabbing him while Ian uses his skill [Provoke] to let the enemy aggro him for 3 seconds while reducing 20% of the target's DEF and MDEF but increasing the target's ATK by 20% as well. Aven stabs the guy's back and breaks his armor while Ilvia can just pierce her spear through his armor. The guy can't handle the damages and in less than 10 seconds he falls to the ground and disappears.
They're celebrating for a moment and then go back to the battle to help the others, I look around and the enemies are already losing 20% to 30% of the players. Jessica Malice is on the back and fighting our allies on her own, and to be honest, she's quite good and she manages to handle three players on her own. I look at Trevor and he's just staring at Jessica without showing any expression, but then sighs and raises his eyebrows. I look at Jessica and she's surrounded by so many players already in just a few seconds, Kyle and the commanders are surrounding her and pointing their weapons toward her.
Jessica swings her spear and strikes down to the ground and a shockwave appears, Kyle and the others are getting a debuff which is reducing their movement speeds and attack speeds. Jessica runs toward Valentino and thrusts her spear toward his head, and he barely dodges it because she moves so fast. His cheek is bleeding and he's surprised because he gets poisoned, he warns everyone that her spear has poison attribute. Valentino drinks an antidote but he's so confused and then warns everyone that the poison can't be cured at all, and it's depleting his HP very drastically. In less than a minute, Valentino falls to the ground dead while the others are looking at Jessica with caution.
Jessica is running toward the players and swinging her spear very randomly that everyone is too scared to make a move toward her. For more than 10 minutes everyone tries to defeat her but they lose more than they expected. It's hard to get close to her knowing that she has a powerful poison attribute on her spear, but then Poshmeleon and another player from our allies decide to sacrifice themselves. They both run toward her and dodge most of her attacks but they both get stabbed on the shoulder and forearm, and at the same time, Kyle and the others are pushing toward Jessica and manage to disarm her then Cecilia kicks her spear to the other side of the room.
Jessica looks at her allies who are struggling to fight our allies in front of them, Jessica looks outside the window and hopes to see her allies come to help her but she knows that our allies have already taken over the castle and it's just her and these players left to protect the throne. She looks at Trevor and just shrugs while smiling at him, she then takes off the crown on her head and looks at it for quite a while, she sighs and throws the crown to the ground. Kyle is talking with one of the clan leaders to grab the crown because Kyle and Oscario don't want to take over the Highland since they have another thing to take care of. The guy grabs the crown and puts it on top of his head while Jessica looks at them and smiles gently.
"We admit our defeat, good game."
