Chapter 436 Family Outing

Chapter 436 Family Outing

Alex needed to stay in the game for three extra hours because the final event had yet to end for everyone, and the final ranking needed to be calculated.

The final results of the team were more decent than Alex expected, as Saahira and Ravyn’s teams defended their cities and earned a combined total of 11.8 million points.

Venedikt and Andrei’s team both had their cities destroyed, making their team points zero and their combined points barely reaching 5 million, and even that 3.5 belonged to Venedikt.

Andrei’s poor performance was to be expected because he had Killian, the Dragon Butcher and Tyrant of the Olympian Guild, as his teammate, and those two would surely want to keep him out of competition to gain any advantage over his team they could.

The only concern Alex harbored regarding Andrei’s predicament was the possibility of him being repeatedly respawned and killed by Killian, and if it had happened, he was prepared to pay back the favor, but thankfully, things did not unfold in that manner.

However, Killian did kill Andrei after telling him that the only way he would get back would be through a lucky respawn, which did happen, but on the very last day, Andrei was given little time to earn points.

Killian lost the city defense because of his inability to find the person who could keep the city barrier working even when it should shut down, while Venedikt team lost their city due to the absence of the Wraith Emperor, whose son they had killed in one of the quests.

Venedikt and Andrei both got unlucky or maybe it was Zero’s way of keeping things in balance because if all of them had defended their cities, their overall points would easily have surpassed a hundred million, giving them a massive lead.

They still had a massive lead as the five of them combined earned around 87 million, pushing their total points past 104 million, still giving them a lead of 56 million over the second-placed team.

The team said they were good before logging out, and as Alex had planned, he took a cold shower and then took a three-hour nap to recover to his peak condition.

After waking up, Alex went to the training chamber to meet with Venedikt and discuss the matters concerning the domain and Shiekh.

After an hour, Andrei joined them, and the first thing he asked was to spar with Alex, as he was not in the best mood, so they let their fist loose for the next two.

The boys left the training chamber after two hours and met with their families, as they had planned to visit the Aquarium, Bowling alley, Theme park, and, lastly, dinner to end the day.

After some time, both families were making their way through into the central area of the aquarium, with the elders being in the lead and Sophia being her usual cheerful and happy self right behind them, saying her desire to see the orka from up close.

‘Alex, the mana emanating from Sophia has grown by at least 10% from the last week, and if it keeps growing at this rate, it could become harmful to her, as she is not awakened, and her body is also showing no signs of awakening,’ Venedikt said, his voice as low as a whisper and laced with deep concern.

‘At the rate, we are collecting the galactic coins from the domain and performing in the event, we can buy the Life pod technology and do as planned right after the event,’ Alex said and kept walking, his pupils being much darker than before as he scanned the world in black and white.

‘Brother, I know you want to make the technology available for free and even set up health centers for free in the future, but can’t we just jointly buy the technology with some guild or government with the condition to buy their shares later,’

‘I know you say that there is no need for such measures, but if something happens to Sophie,’ Andrei said, going silent at the end.

‘She is my sister, and there is nothing in this world for which I will put her in danger, so don’t worry because when the event ends, we will have a cure for her,’

‘So just trust me, everything will be fine,’ Alex said, knowing his brother’s concern was valid, but his actions also had their reasons.

Alex had sensed mana emanating from Sophia a few days after his Rank promotion, and it was a big surprise, to say the least, because now he probably knew why his sister had entered a state of Coma in his previous life.

Minutes after finding out the situation, Alex made contact with Zero using a wish and asked him to explain the situation or disease that was affecting his sister.

Zero told him that Sophia was in no real danger if she kept getting the life serum treatment and that it would be better if she could receive life pod treatment as it would prolong the duration she needed to receive treatment again, and doing so would keep her healthy for years and years. 𝒍𝓲𝒃𝙧𝓮𝙖𝒅.𝓬𝙤𝓶

However, Zero also shared that the permanent treatment for Sophia was for her to awaken, but her awakening would not be normal and would certainly attract the attention of very unwanted people, and if Alex wanted to keep his family safe, then he needed to make sure she does not awaken.

Alex offered all his system wishes to learn further, but Zero denied his request and told him that he needed to reach the Elementalist Rank in the real world to get his answers.

Zero shared further that at the rate Sophia’s mana was developing, she would awaken in around a year, and while the treatment was supplementing her growth, it was also the reason she was living a normal life and not in a state of energy deprivation which would lead to Coma.

Zero said that Alex would need to buy the technology needed to safely extract mana from Sophia so she would not awaken and also stay healthy and safe, and that said technology could be included to the mana pod.

Alex had around 3.8 billion funds at hand, but he required close to 7 billion for both technologies and paying an extra 125 million coins to have Zero build a pod and set it up in his guild house.

Alex didn’t want to share the stress of what he knew with his brothers because it would accomplish nothing, and as for acquiring the remaining three or so billion, he was planning to acquire it by exchanging his event points at a 200 to 1, which was a huge markup compared to the system, 100 to 1, but guilds were going to buy them for the auction at the end of the event.

Alex needed around 30 million points, and with the bonus of 50 million, he had the galactic choice as good as secured, and now he also didn’t need to worry about leaving a few good things in the auction because of his tight budget.

Everything was in place, and Alex just needed to wait for two more weeks, and a big responsibility would be off his shoulders. While he avoided overthinking this matter, he was more afraid and worried about a mistake than anything else ongoing in his life.

After the small talk, the boys dropped the topic and began enjoying their time with the family to ease their minds from the constant competition.

They enjoyed their time in the aquarium, then visited the Bowling alley where one thing led to another, and the boys were dragged into a friendly contest by Alex’s father against someone he knew from long ago.

While the due kept in control, Andrei destroyed it by scoring perfect scores in every game.

The time at the theme park was also great and relaxing, and they finally ended the day with dinner at a family-owned hotel that Alex and his family had visited often a few decades back.

The day was refreshing and gave Alex a few great memories, and after both families returned to their homes, the boys spent the remaining bit of free time with their families before returning to the Ancient globe to participate in the third stage of the event.
