Chapter 1054: Beyond the Box
Chapter 1054: Beyond the Box
Taking a few steps back to get a better look at what form his Mystic Energy took on, Valyr could not help but rub his eyes a couple of times to figure out whether he was dreaming or
not.
Unsure whether rubbing his eyes would prove that the current situation before him was real, the young man went ahead and pinched himself on the upper thigh with as much as strength he could muster.
“Mmph!” Suppressing a loud yowl from the amount of strength he put in to the pinch, Valyr soon took in a deep breath to calm himself down before looking back at the figure standing in front of him.
“It really isn’t a dream, then,” muttered the young man to himself. “The Mystic Energy really took on the form of a stick man.”
Of course, the Mystic Energy didn’t take on the form of an actual stick man.
If anything, the humanoid figure the Mystic Energy took on resembled one, though its body and limbs took on a bit of heft to become more tangible to the senses.
Feeling the immense strain on his Mystic Energy, Valyr looked at the stick man before him with a bitter smile. “Well, in terms of complexity, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that it would take this much to have it manifest.”
Noting that he only had a limited amount of time before the stick man in front of him would disappear due to a lack of Mystic Energy, the young man went ahead and made the most of the remaining time he had.
With that, he sent a few commands to the stick man through his thoughts, using the method he used to control the translucent arms he created during forging as an example.
Seeing the stick man remain in place even after bombarding it with a series of commands, Valyr soon let out a sigh in disappointment, only for another thought to surface in his mind. Whoosh!
Deciding to sacrifice the remaining Mystic Energy he had in his body, the young man went ahead and infused it into the stick man while attempting to send a command to it once more. The result?
“…!” With all of his senses entirely focused on the stickman, Valyr’s eyes immediately glistened with glee the moment he noticed the stick man’s hands twitch at its very last second of manifestation.
With his gaze still affixed towards the spot where the stick man previously stood, the young man went over what he witnessed just now in his mind, letting out a few drawn-out exhales as he more or less summed up his findings.
“So, it’s possible to have Mystic Energy take on a human form,” said Valyr to himself as he thought out loud, only to realize that he was probably disturbing both Mystia and Marcus’ focus.
Slightly distancing himself from the two, it was only then did the young man return to his thoughts, smiling as he realized that Mystic Energy would be able to offer him far more than he initially thought.
“However, if I want it to take on a human form and move according to my thoughts, I would need a lot more Mystic Energy than I currently have.”
“Possibly even push the purification of my Mystic Energy to 1st Metamorphosis if it’s really that taxing,” said the young man to himself, thinking of the situation as a win-win.
After all, if he were to increase his Mystic Energy capacity to an absurd degree, or purify his Mystic Energy to a higher stage, he could use either it to create a humanoid that would listen to him or a forging hammer that was better than the Hammer of Beginnings.
“Though, with how those two concepts, though separate from one another, could be fully realized through Mystic Energy, it does make me wonder.”
Rubbing his chin as he went over the experiments he’d done thus far, a question soon popped up in his mind, the question seemingly encapsulating the entire concept of Mystic Energy itself.
“Aside from using it for offensive purposes… can I really have Mystic Energy take on any form I want?”
With the question lingering in his mind, Valyr took in a deep breath before giving himself all the time he needed to replenish his Mystic Energy.
Then, with a solemn look on his face, he then proceeded to undergo a session of improving his Mystic Energy capacity, only to then follow it up by improving his Mystic Energy to the 1st Cleansing.
Bang!
Seeing an iridescent star form within the depths of his body after some time, Valyr soon smiled with satisfaction as he returned his senses back to reality, only to see that both Mystia and Marcus were still in the midst of purifying their Mystic Energy.
“Huh. I only took half a day to do those two things.” Calculating the amount of time that passed by taking a look at the position of the sun, Valyr soon took in a deep breath as he prepared himself for what he was going to do next.
Whoosh!
Feeling like he’d adjusted his mental state to the ideal condition for experimentation, it was only then did Valyr release his improved Mystic Energy into the surroundings, its color now less iridescent than before.
Nevertheless, the otherworldly feeling it gave off was more pronounced than ever, giving Valyr more leeway to channel his thoughts into the energy itself.
With that, he began his experiment to figure out whether or not he could have Mystic Energy take on any form he wanted, as long as he did not use the energy for offensive purposes.
Swoosh!
With the possibility of using it for forging having already been answered, it was no surprise that Valyr first expanded his thinking towards the other fields of production. Tailoring, alchemy, and scholarly works, all of those were surprisingly accepted by the Mystic Energy, transforming into items that more or less encompassed the concept of the field itself. Unexpectedly, their effects were more or less similar to the forging hammer he created as well, giving him a great level of insight, knowledge, and experience towards those three fields when he wielded them.
Of course, with those being confirmed, he then proceeded to conjure the other items that conveyed the essence of those fields of production, which unsurprisingly went smoothly.
Briefly taking a detour into his experiment by checking if he could form Mystic Energy into the other tools that made up the forging process, Valyr eventually moved his thoughts to
what he felt was the next step.
Whoosh!
With the fields of production being accepted by the Mystic Energy, it only made sense that his train of thought continued onto the other practices that allowed civilization to become what
it was today.
Whether it was farming or bartering, the Mystic Energy unexpectedly accepted those concepts without hesitation, allowing Valyr to inch closer towards the answer he sought.
‘Frankly, I’m surprised that it even accepted politics as a purpose,’ briefly thought the young man to himself, recalling how the Mystic Energy transformed into a floating mouth that contained the insight of the greatest kings and rulers.
‘Then again, it also accepted mockery.’
Seeing as the Mystic Energy could accept almost every practice he could think of, Valyr
eventually returned his thoughts towards the stick man he conjured some time ago, hoping he could redeem himself now that he’d improved his Mystic Energy.
Of course, it went without saying that the stick man had become more pronounced than before thanks to his Mystic Energy now being at the stage of 1st Cleansing, allowing it to remain conjured longer while also becoming more tangible.
With its existence in reality prolonged due to this improvement, Valyr went ahead and attempted to relay a few orders to it once more, somewhat satisfied that it could do a few basic movements without much strain on his Mystic Energy.
Naturally, it was a different story when he asked it to complete more complex tasks, taking up
far more Mystic Energy per second than even five Epic-grade forging hammers created
through Mystic Energy could consume.
Nevertheless, he was still glad that the slight twitch he noticed back then wasn’t a fluke,
reminding himself that it would only be a matter of time before he’d be able to use his Mystic Energy in human form to the fullest.
‘Who knows, perhaps there might come a day where I’m not only limited to just one humanoid?’ With that thought in mind, it did not take long for Valyr’s mind to wander once more, eventually deciding to use Mystic Energy in a similar way to the translucent arms he
formed while forging.
Of course, with how open Mystic Energy was to all of the concepts he’d thrown at it thus far, it went without saying that it took on the form of translucent arms as well, taking only a fraction of the mental power to make them move according to his will.
However, the ease of control over the bright white arms came at the cost of the precision and
finesse of the action itself, which Valyr felt was an easy fix, especially after figuring out how to fix it by infusing it with more Mystic Energy not long after.
In the end, he figured out that he could conjure around four pairs of translucent arms with
Mystic Energy, which would bring the total number of pairs of arms he could use while
forging to nine.
“10 if I include my own,” muttered Valyr to himself, only to grin to himself not long after as he realized he’d become even more of a one-man production line. Slightly chuckling as the thought lingered in his mind, the young man went over all of the experiments he’d done one last time, eventually confirming that his earlier hypothesis was
correct.
Though, rather than become excited at this confirmation, he instead became curious once more as he allowed his mind to go beyond the confines he’d initially set.
“Since I could use Mystic Energy to bring my thoughts to reality…” “Does that mean it’s possible to bring modern technology into reality with it?”
