MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1799 1799: Extended Foundation

“Extended Foundation…?”

Hearing that term, Valyr told Ataraxia to continue their conversation at a later time as he asked Xervei for clarification.

“That’s what you call the kind of title that I gave you,” said the latter in response. “The name already speaks for itself.”

Although he understood what the man meant by that, the young man decided to ask him for more information.

“This is actually the first time I’ve come across the term.” Valyr let out an awkward chuckle. “If you don’t mind me asking, what does it mean for a title to be called an Extended Foundation Title?”

“Well…” Hearing those words, Xervei went silent for a bit as he gave the question a bit of thought.

Yet, before he could even voice out the answer he had come up with, Florentine went ahead and asked a question of her own in return. “Have you heard of Foundation Titles before?”

“I have not.” The young man shook his head.

“Though it might seem like they’re rare because of their name, Foundation titles are actually the most common titles you could get,” said Florentine as she nodded in understanding. “After all, from the name alone, their effects always involve improving one’s foundation.”

“Or in other words, they raise the stats of the one that obtained said title,” she added soon after, which allowed Valyr to get a better idea of what Extended Foundation Titles were.

But of course, there were still some things he needed to know before he could say he actually understood what those titles were.

“If a title improves the user’s stats as one of its effects, does that automatically make it a Foundation Title?” he asked, giving both Xervei and Florentine an inquisitive look.

“In my opinion, I only consider a title a Foundation Title if boosting one’s stats is the title’s most prominent effect.” Pushing his earlier thoughts to the side for now, Xervei answered Valyr’s question with a nod.

“However, some also say that as long as it boosts the user’s stats to some degree, then it’s considered a Foundation Title.”

Valyr nodded at those words. “When you mean stats, do you mean only the eight main stats, or does that also include things like the HP and MP stat?”

“The eight main stats, as well as the HP, MP, Attack, and Defense stat,” replied Florentine. “If the title boosts hidden stats instead, it’s considered a Special Foundation Title.”

“There’s also another type of title that boosts stats only available to Divine-level beings,” added Xervei after that. “However, even though the stats themselves are called extended stats, the title that boosts these extended stats are called Divine Foundation Titles.”

“Why not just call them Extended Titles instead?” asked Valyr in return, recalling that other players classified titles that boosted extended stats under that name.

“That’s because Extended Titles are an entirely different thing,” answered the man with a slightly bitter smile. “The best way to describe Extended Titles would be multiple titles that form a series with their effects being the same yet increasing.”

“I see.” Though Valyr was confused why everyone agreed to call titles that formed a series Extended Titles, he did understand the thought process that allowed them to come to that conclusion.

“So, what does an Extended Foundation Title do?” After spending some time processing all of the information the two shared with him, Valyr went ahead and asked a question that brought all of them back to the original topic.

“It improves the main source of one’s stats,” said Xervei, making use of the answer he had come up with earlier. “To be more specific, it increases the amount of stats you get from both your main class and subclass.”

“Is there a limit to this increase?” asked Valyr as a follow-up. “Or is there no limit to it and you can just increase the amount of stats you gain infinitely?”

In his mind, if it were the former, the young man would feel that there was still a sense of balance to the entire thing.

However, if it were the latter…

Then Extended Foundation Titles would undoubtedly become the definition of a Balance Breaker.

“There is indeed a limit,” answered Xervei, allowing Valyr to inwardly let out a sigh of relief in response. “Though, that limit depends on the rarity of one’s class and subclass.”

Understanding that the young man would ask him a question stemming from his current response, the man went ahead and continued with his explanation. “For classes and subclasses between Common and Rare grade, the highest increase you could achieve is 50% of the original value.”

“As for classes and subclasses from Epic to Mythic grade, that limit is twice the original value.”

“To give you an idea of how high that limit is, a Mythic grade class at that limit would give you 60% more stat points compared to a normal Divine grade class.”

“Hiss…” Valyr sucked in a breath of cold air at those words. “If maxed-out Mythic grade classes are already far better than Divine grade classes, then what if one were to max out that stat increase on a class above Mythic?”

“Naturally, it gets more absurd,” Xervei replied. “The limit to Ancient and Divine grade classes is three times the original value, while classes and subclasses at Immemorial grade have a limit of four times the original value.”

“Three… four…” At this point, the young man was at an utter loss for words.

“Of course, being the highest rarity one could obtain, Primordial grade classes have the most absurd limit out of all of them.”

Valyr could not help but gulp. “What… what limit do they have?”

“If we stop thinking about how difficult it is to get one’s hands on an Extended Foundation Title for a second, a Primordial grade class would only reach its limit once the stats it gives per level is around five times its original value,” said Xervei.

“But, realistically speaking, it would already be a miracle for a Primordial grade class holder to achieve double the stat gain per level.”

“Five times…” Feeling his brain shut down for a bit, Valyr took in a few deep breaths as he tried to wrap his head around the idea of gaining five times as much stats as he originally would per level.

‘As far as I remember, only a handful of players back then were able to get their hands on a Primordial grade class,’ he muttered to himself. ‘And with just that alone, they were already able to lord over most of the player base.’

Thinking about what would happen if those same players were to get their hands on Extended Foundation Titles, the young man shuddered at the thought at first, only to then shake his head at the theoretical scenario he came up with.

‘There’s no point in scaring myself,’ he muttered to himself, letting out a slight chuckle.

‘After all, with how much of a head start I have over the current player base…’

‘I’d probably be the one scaring them instead.’
