Chapter 763 Four Pillars: Exchanging Information (3)
?As the term ‘Space Age’ came out of Nila’s mouth, Valyr’s body slightly shook in excitement as the woman went over a few of the most prominent technologies to come out of that age.
While continuing to listen intently to her words, the young man thought back to the plans he had made at the very beginning of his journey.
With how he was lacking in strength back then, the scope of his plans were quite broad.
Nevertheless, he had narrowed it down into two points that he needed to fulfill if he wanted to give their side a fighting chance at the final war.
The first was to obtain a class that would take him to the peak of power.
Of course, that bullet point was already fulfilled, considering how the combination of classes under his belt already allowed him to fight against those of a higher rank without much problem.
As for the other point…
It was to create an organization that was strong yet cohesive at the same time.
With how the final battle in his past life panned out, he wanted this organization to be united in the face of battle, making sure that every action was for the sake of bringing their side to victory.
And surprisingly, obtaining technology from the Space Age was one of the many steps Valyr had in mind to make that happen.
‘I’ll only be able to establish an alliance once Greater Beyond is publicly released,’ thought Valyr to himself as he continued to absorb all of the information Nila was giving him.
‘Nevertheless, having the capability to explore nearby planets during the first version of the game would definitely entice many players and NPCs to come join.’
‘Then again, it’s not something that I’d be able to use that often, considering that each trip taken with the technology would require months, if not years.’
‘Still doesn’t stop it from being a good bargaining chip, though.’
With his tangential train of thought now over, Valyr returned his attention back to what Nila had to say, widening his eyes in slight surprise as she went over a whole host of rocket engines in great detail.
After that, she went through multiple types of rocket fuels and fuselages, all of which Valyr deeply embedded into his memory.
At this point, the young man felt like he had already gotten more than what he bargained for.
After all, he had just asked her the question out of the blue, owing to the fact that she came from a clan that spanned a galaxy.
However, rather than stop at the Space Age, Nila introduced the two eras of technology that came after that, leaving Valyr at a slight loss for words.
“After the Space Age came the Digital Age,” said the woman.
“Some civilizations term it as the Third Industrial Revolution due to how groundbreaking the technologies invented during that age was.”
“Then again, with how this era of technology brought about the ability to harness the power of ones and zeros to do everything… how could it not be?”
After talking about the technologies of the Digital Age in detail, she then moved onto the era that came after that, which was the Age of Information.
Listening to the woman talk about things like the Internet, Valyr could not stop himself from stifling his laughter, considering how she was introducing it to him like he did not know anything about it.
Well, from her perspective, the young man did indeed look like he had no clue about those things at all, judging from his slightly dumbfounded expression.
But of course, that was all just a facade, with Valyr not wanting Nila to know that he knew these technologies as if it were the back of his hand.
‘If only the Technology Tree from my past life had carried over onto this one, then I wouldn’t have gone through all of this,’ thought Valyr to himself.
‘Then again, getting a second shot at life is already far more than I could ever ask for.’
By the time Nila had finished her explanation, Valyr decided to ask a few questions that focused on a few things, wanting to hone in on the impression that he was truly learning everything from Nila for the first time.
Once that was done, the young man then thanked Nila for sharing what she knew as the two returned their attention to their tasks at hand.
Ding!
[You have gained great amounts of information regarding technological advancements during the Age of Scientific Revolution from Nila Hephaista.]
[From this point onward, Advancements during the Age of Scientific Revolution within the Technology Tree’s Innovation branch now cost a lower amount of Technology Points to unlock and upgrade.]
[Cost of advancements beyond the Age of Scientific Revolution have also been reduced due to the obtained information.]
[…]
Looking through the nigh endless number of notifications he had gotten from Nila’s lecture, a faint smile appeared on Valyr’s face as he thought about how he would have an easier time achieving his goals in terms of technology.
Closing the screen he had brought up, the young man then focused all of his attention on the blade he was upgrading, seeing that it was nearing completion.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Pushing [Zen] to its limits, Valyr proceeded to cooperate with the mana arms he had conjured, eventually pushing the aura of the blade to another level.
Ding!
[You have successfully modified the weapon ‘Blade of Flames’.]
[Due to the immense modification done, the weapon has gained the ability to tap into a far greater expanse of power it initially couldn’t, thus increasing the weapon’s rarity to Uncommon+.]
[A great number of materials have also been added to the weapon, increasing the potential the weapon has for further advancements.]
[Thanks to this change, the name of the weapon has been changed to ‘Blade of Scorching Flames’, reflecting all of the modifications and improvements the blacksmith has made to the weapon.]
[The heavens have seen the effort you have put into your craft and thus rewards you accordingly. Your item has successfully gained part of the original properties of the artifact ‘True Blade of Samadhi’.]
“[Superior Analysis].”
Reading through the updated description of the blade he was forging with a satisfied smile, Valyr let out a slight chuckle as the weapon had now been considered an Emulation by the system.
Going over through the guide he was following to transform the blade into an artifact, the young man briefly glanced at Nila for a bit before returning his attention to his weapon.
Taking in a deep breath to calm his nerves, he then began to take out a series of items from his material cache before chucking them all into the furnace.
“Now that it’s been designated as an Emulation…”
“Time to make it an Imitation.”
