Chapter 931: Overwhelming Power
Chapter 931: Overwhelming Power
Having been given a lecture by Noel on the upside-down hierarchy of beasts within the Shadow Plane, Valyr knew what it meant for him to hunt Shadow Rabbits.
After all, as rabbits were among those at the bottom of the food chain back in the outside world, Shadow Rabbits were considered the most dangerous, as well as the strongest beasts one could fight within the Shadow Plane.
Jogging his memory to recall their brief encounter with one of those Shadow Rabbits, Valyr was eventually reminded of the Shadow Rabbit’s fraudulent stats, as well as its HP that exceeded 500,000.
If Valyr had fought against a monster like that using the strength he had before the inheritance, there was no doubt that the young man would have lost his life.
Aside from the fact that the level gap between the two at the time was enough to reduce the young man’s damage to a single pitiful point, the rabbit also boasted stats that would have had no problems crushing three or four Valyrs at once.
Of course, all of that changed now that he’d gotten out of the inheritance.
Though a large level gap still existed between the two of them, the young man could now deal damage higher than a single point, with his title [Slayer of Ascendants] helping him in that regard.
Not only that, but his stats were now only slightly lacking compared to the beast he used to fear, instilling him with the confidence necessary to fight against one in the first place. However, if one were to ask the main reason why the young man was more than confident in hunting Shadow Rabbits…
It was the fact that he possessed not one, but two incredibly fraudulent weapons. These weapons were so fraudulent that, with enough preparation, they dealt hundreds of thousands of damage to beings that were superior to him in every aspect.
Naturally, these weapons were none other than the pistol and arquebus he’d forged.
Unfortunately, while Valyr was confident of his chances at defeating Shadow Rabbits, Noel remained skeptical, even after he had already seen a glimpse at the young man’s true strength.
‘It’s definitely strong to fight against adult Shadow Serpents without worry,’ thought the old man to himself as he pondered over it with his eyes slightly closed. ‘If he didn’t mind taking risks, he could even emerge victorious against the likes of Shadow Wolves or Shadow Boars.’
‘But against a Shadow Rabbit?’ Noel shook his head at the thought. ‘He still has a long way to go.’
In his current state, Noel was more than confident enough to fight against the Shadow Rabbits without difficulty.
After all, not only was the man a Rank 5 class holder, he was also someone who had a decently leveled Intent.
Though, what gave the man great confidence was the fact that he had control over Abyssal Energy, an energy similar in terms of aspect when compared to Shadow Energy, but was of a higher tier in both purity and quality.
On the other hand, though Valyr’s Azure Energy was able to stand its ground against his Abyssal Energy, that was only because the old man had yet to activate any of his buffs.
If he decided to gloss over the fact that they were having a spar and went all out, there was no doubt that Valyr’s attack would have crumpled like a piece of paper in less than an instant.
‘But that doesn’t mean he’s weak at all.’ As this thought came to mind, Noel eventually decided to partly acquiesce to the young man’s demands.
After all, who wasn’t hot-blooded in their youth?
“Alright,” said Noel after he was done pondering. “Since you’ve suggested to hunt those stronger than adult Shadow Serpents, then I will follow your wishes.”
Hearing those words, Valyr immediately broke into silence as he looked at the old man with immense gratitude.
However, that face swiftly disappeared as the old man continued to speak. “But as I’ve deemed it dangerous for you to fight against Shadow Rabbits at the moment, I’ve decided to have you fight against the Shadow Boars instead.”
“Based on the hierarchy of beasts within the Shadow Plane, Shadow Boars are considered to be within the starting realms of predators, with most of them consuming Shadow Wolves, Tigers, and every other beast lower than them in rank without much issue.”
“I suppose that’s more than enough of a challenge for the current you,” said Noel, taking notice of the frown that was adorning the young man’s face.
Though, not long after, the frown on Valyr’s face disappeared as he nodded, deciding to follow Noel’s wishes for the meantime.
Of course, having handled multiple people with personalities similar to Valyr throughout his life, it did not take long for Noel to understand what was going on in the young man’s head at that point.
‘From the looks of it, you’re eager to prove me wrong,’ thought the old man to himself as the two continued to move through the vast forests of the Shadow Plane.
With a faint smile briefly flashing on his smile, the old man inwardly muttered, ‘I’ll tell you this right now.’
‘You’re the one who’s going to be proven wrong, brat.’
…
After running through the forests of the Shadow Plane for some time, Noel and Valyr eventually found themselves at the edge of a decently sized clearing, staring at what looked
to be a normal boar resting at the center of the clearing.
Though, as they were in the Shadow Plane, the boar spanned around three meters long, faintly reminding Valyr of the Arx’has Boars he used to summon in the past.
Aside from that, the boar exuded an aura that made anyone looking at it feel slightly intimidated, which surprisingly harmonized with the inherent strength the boar seemingly
had.
Wondering if Noel was serious in having him fight against the boar, Valyr noticed through the old man’s gaze that he seemed incredibly adamant to have him fight against the boar.
Realizing that, the young man inwardly sighed, deciding to show what he was capable of right now so he could avoid situations like these popping up in the future.
‘He definitely wouldn’t see this coming.’

for its highly territorial nature.
In any case, pick on someone your own size.
With all things considered, the Shadow Boar before him was definitely a strong opponent
adversary for its rank.
After all, if he were to compare it to players and NPCs that were at the same rank as the boar, there was no doubt in his mind that the boar would easily steamroll through them with its
stats alone.
Sadly, it was up against Valyr this time around.
“There’s no limitation on how I defeat it?” Just as the young man was about to bring out his
arquebus, Valyr decided to ask the question that popped up in his mind at the thought
beforehand.
Expecting that he would be limited to using either the spear or his magic, Noel surprisingly shook his head at the question. “You could use any means you want against it. It’s a difficult
adversary for your rank, after all.”
Getting the green light on being able to use any means he wanted, the young man broke out in a bit of laughter as he brought out the Supreme True Arquebus from his spatial bracelet. Bringing out the items needed for the arquebus to show its true power, the young man soon went through the process of arming the firearm, prompting Noel to look at it and Valyr with a hint of curiosity.
“Is this a new weapon you made?” asked Noel, feeling a slight sense of danger whenever he looked at it for some reason.
“It only came about a day or so before I entered the inheritance,” said Valyr in response.
Finished with arming the weapon, he then began to infuse his mana into it, activating [Extended Charge] as he waited for it to reach its maximum power.
Sensing the building energy within the unique-looking weapon, Noel continued to ask the young man a bit more about it. “What kind of weapon did you forge? Is it a magic weapon?
You’re infusing a lot of mana into it.”
Valyr shook his head in response, activating the Truth Weaver Scripture as he focused its
power towards his Intent of Shadow Energy. “It’s a ranged weapon. As for why I’m infusing it
with a lot of mana…”
“You’ll soon find that out for yourself, Elder Noel.”
Once [Extended Charge] had reached its limit, Valyr proceeded to activate [Limit Break: Second Verse] and [First Encore], boosting all of his stats by a total of 25%.
Whoosh!
Feeling greater strength course through his veins, the young man then took a few steps
forward, causing the Shadow Boar to awaken from its rest as its eyes glinted a familiar
crimson.
“Gooorrrkkkk!!!”
Seeing the curse he’d forgotten in the inheritance take effect once more, a faint smile adorned
Valyr’s lips as he watched the boar move towards him with ever greater speed.
However, before it could even close the gap between them…
“[Grand Burst]!”
Bang! -1,161,655!!!
The boar had already transformed into a mist of blood and flesh.
