Hearing the string of sounds that resounded from where the two were, Valyr immediately thought of the worst-case scenario, thinking that the two had been ambushed by a group of enemies.
After all, with the power she wielded, Sellifer had no problems fighting against a Shadow Rabbit as strong as the one he killed before. Even a group of them would be easy pickings for someone like her.

With her expression that of a slight frown, the young man then proceeded to look for Noel, his mouth turning slightly agape the very moment he found him.
Forming a stark contrast to Sellifer’s current state, Noel currently looked as if he had gone through multiple wars without taking a break.
The neat dark gray and gold robe he wore to the Shadow Plane had mostly turned into tatters under what seemed to be a myriad number of cuts.
Of course, even the old man’s body wasn’t spared, sporting all sorts of bruises and wounds that would have undoubtedly killed a normal human at this point.
Though, the more Valyr looked at Noel, the more he realized that most, if not all of the injuries on the old man’s body were superficial at best, showcasing Sellifer’s exemplary control over her power.
Nevertheless, seeing Noel in that state caused the young man to quickly put two and two together in his mind, inwardly sucking a breath of cold air as he renewed his impression of Sellifer once again.

Committing this mental note to memory, Valyr eventually landed near the two, prompting both Sellifer and Noel to look in his direction.
“Well… I guess I went a bit too far this time around.” Understanding what kind of situation the young man had gotten himself into, Sellifer let out an awkward chuckle as she used a bit of her Azure Energy to help Noel up.

Then, moving the Azure Energy in a way that enveloped the old man’s body, the latter soon appeared in front of the young man as if nothing had even happened in the first place. “What happened here?” Taking in a deep breath as he felt immense awe towards the godlike power Sellifer just showcased, Valyr decided to ask the two more about what happened, considering how he was just looking at his skills all this time.
“I’m sure you already have an idea of what happened.” Before Noel could respond to the question, Sellifer took the initiative to reply first, continuing to adorn the slight frown she had before.
“I’ve already mentioned to you back then that Noel begged me to give him the purification methods back in the past,” said the woman, to which Valyr nodded in response.
“However, that’s only a part of the truth,” she continued not long after, causing the young man’s eyes to widen in surprise as he glanced at Noel after that.
Seeing Valyr look at him, Noel immediately had a bitter smile on his face as he showed the young man another side of himself. “The end result was that I got the purification methods from her.”
“But my initial goal was to learn how to wield Azure Energy,” the man said, continuing to glance at Sellifer with hope every once in a while. “After all, compared to the energy I wield now, Azure Energy would eventually allow me to reach greater power.”
“I told you multiple times already that you wouldn’t be able to learn it,” said Sellifer as she shook her head. “Back then, you’d already embraced the world of the Void and transformed your Shadow Energy to Void Energy.”
“It’s near impossible for someone to fuse Void Energy with mana to form Azure Energy, even more so for one to fuse Abyssal Energy with mana to do it.”
“You said it’s near impossible, Divine One,” replied Noel, moving closer to Sellifer as he got ready to kneel in front of her once more. “That means there’s still a small sliver of hope for me to be able to wield it.”
“That’s only if we’re speaking in theory.” Sellifer shook her head once more, not understanding why the old man was so adamant in learning it. “Practically, it’s impossible to fuse the two together.”
“All the more reason for me to ask you once more and prove you wrong,” said Noel as he kowtowed in front of her. “Please, Divine One. Give this old man just one chance.”
“…” With how things between the two unfolded before him, Valyr could not help but scratch the back of his head as he looked at Sellifer. “How many times has he done this already?” “More than I would have liked to count,” said the woman in response, causing him to wryly smile in response.
“Why not give Elder Noel a chance?” said Valyr to Sellifer after a bit of silence, making Noel look at him with glistening eyes. “After all, he wouldn’t really lose much if he were to fail in forming Azure Energy.”
“If anything, even if he fails, he would have refined his mana to the point where even braiding the two would improve his combat prowess.”
“Imagine if he were to incorporate concepts on top of that,” continued Valyr, prompting Sellifer to go silent. “Whether he fails or not, he wouldn’t have a reason to pester you
anymore after you do it.”
“Hmm…” Rubbing her chin for a bit with a pensive expression, Sellifer eventually let out a sigh as she nodded in response to Valyr’s words.
Seeing the woman slightly nod at Valyr’s suggestion, Noel’s eyes glistened with joy as he looked at Valyr with immense gratitude.
“Alright. It takes a different kind of tenacity to be so adamant in having someone like me teach you Azure Energy anyway,” said the woman, her tone slightly defeated.
Nevertheless, that immediately disappeared as her expression turned solemn, briefly looking at Noel with a slightly cruel smile before shifting her gaze towards the young man.
“But before that, I’ll need to have you do a test first.”
