MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 940: Proving One's Tenacity

Chapter 940: Proving One’s Tenacity

“Your staff?” Raising his eyebrow in response to Sellifer’s sudden question, Valyr soon understood what she meant by that, bringing out a normal-looking staff out of his spatial bracelet after some time.

Whoosh!

Though it looked as if it was a considerably large branch seemingly picked up in the middle of the forest, if one were to look at it closely, one would notice the great number of runes carved on its surface that faintly radiated a dark blue.

Sensing the feeling of both beckoning and refusal emanate from the staff once more, a faint smile appeared on the young man’s face as he used [Superior Analysis] on it in the midst of giving it to Sellifer.

Ding!

What was originally a unique-looking piece of wood… description has been omitted.

Having been accompanied by Sellifer throughout her entire journey to power, this weapon has obtained the essence of her power, transforming into a weapon that’s greatly suited for wielding Azure Energy.

With Sellifer wielding the weapon until she’d reached the limits of her power as a Myth, this weapon has gained the transcendental ability to adjust its item level to the one that wields it. However, this ability only applies up to those who have reached the pinnacle of a Myth. <Innate Skill 1: Grandeur of Azure Energy – Increases the user’s INT by 10% when equipped. Also increases the user’s Azure Energy regeneration by 30% when equipped.>

<Innate Skill 2: Azure Star – Allows the user to conjure a star of Azure Energy that explodes and deals damage equivalent to 200% of the user’s Attack stat (scales off INT) within a 3 meter radius.

Can be overcharged to deal up to thrice as much damage than its base version. Cooldown: 10 seconds. Cost: 20 to 60 Azure Energy.>

<Innate Skill 3: Azure Typhoon – Allows the user to conjure five bolts of Azure Energy every second for as long as the user still has Azure Energy. Each bolt deals damage equivalent to 80% of the user’s Attack stat (scales off INT) to a foe.

Has a very small chance to inflict stun for 1 second to a foe. Cooldown: 1 minute. Cost: 1% of the user’s max Azure Energy per second.>

Remarks: A weapon greatly suitable for those wielding Azure Energy. Coincidentally, you have access to that energy.

‘Wow.’ With Sellifer receiving the staff he just gave, Valyr’s eyes widened in surprise at the power the staff contained.

In terms of firepower, the young man felt like it could easily match up to the Supreme True Arquebus, especially if he refrained from using [Extended Charge] on the latter.

However, the Supreme True Arquebus focused on a great burst of damage in one shot.

On the other hand, from what he could tell, the Azure Serpent Staff focused on consistent yet highly destructive power, especially when he laid eyes on the staff’s third innate skill.

‘With it working alongside the first skill, it wouldn’t be surprising for someone to wreak havoc on the battlefield with that staff,’ thought Valyr to himself.

Briefly thinking about the Arcane Staff of Redemption he’d refined while in the Four Pillars’ Inheritance, Valyr soon felt the aura of the staff greatly intensify the moment Sellifer laid her hands on it.

Using [Superior Analysis] on it once more to satiate his curiosity, the young man was soon left at a complete loss for words when he saw its modified properties.

Description has been omitted.

Recalling the description of the Azure Serpent Staff once more, Valyr finally understood what it meant by the weapon adjusting to the user’s level, especially the part about its limitations. ‘Since I’m still at the peak of Rank 3, the staff’s level is 55 when I use it,’ muttered Valyr to himself inwardly. ‘With its special property, I could use the staff until I reach the pinnacle of the Myth level, which is Level 300, and have no issues with it.’

‘However, since Sellifer is a Lesser Goddess, the item’s level stops at Level 300 since it can’t adjust properly to the power of the Divine level.’

With that in mind, the young man slowly got over the immense firepower the staff contained under Sellifer’s grasp, thinking to himself that he’d be able to unleash a similar level of power with the arquebus sooner or later.

Though, as he thought about the current situation for a bit more, Valyr’s pupils soon shrunk in fear as he watched Sellifer wave the staff around for a bit.

“Wait a second!” shouted the young man, causing Sellifer to look back at him with a hint of annoyance. “Are you planning to use the staff on Elder Noel?”

“Yeah? What about it?” said the woman in response, only to then understand why Valyr was

asking her.

“Ah. Don’t worry about that. I’ll restrain myself to the power of an early Myth and hit him with that,” said Sellifer after the realization, reassuring the young man with her words.

“If he survives it, then I’ll teach him how to wield Azure Energy.”

At those words, Valyr slightly frowned. “Isn’t that going a bit too far at this point?”

Though, just as the young man said those words, Noel had a different opinion on the matter.

“I’ll do it,” said the old man after letting out a long exhale, his eyes furiously burning with determination. “Would you really teach me how to wield Azure Energy if I were to survive it,

Divine One?”

“You may have annoyed me with your incessant pleas, but your unyielding nature and Valyr’s words have changed my mind.” Sellifer nodded.

“Survive against this, and I’ll teach you how to wield Azure Energy.”

With that, the woman raised the Azure Serpent Staff before manipulating some of her Azure

Energy to gather around its tip.

Taking in a deep breath, she then suppressed her aura to the beginning of the Myth level, causing the faint aura of intimidation surrounding both Valyr and Noel to thoroughly

disappear.

“[Azure Star].”

Whoosh!

Waving the staff forward, Sellifer soon shot out a small star infused with her Azure Energy, its

speed more than enough to instill a bit of terror in the old man that was facing against it.

However, Noel did not back down from the challenge, relying on the experience he’d accrued

thus far as he unsheathed his spear.

“[Abyssal Serpent Arts].”

“[Bastion of the Boundless Abyss].”

Summoning the Abyssal Energy he’d relied on, the old man swiftly conjured a pitch-black barrier around him, using it as his main line of defense against the star of destruction Sellifer

had thrown at him.

Bang!

Unsurprisingly, the star went out with a bang the moment it collided with the barrier, putting a great deal of strain on the latter as it threatened to break under its power. Yet, knowing that he only had to survive against the attack and not fight back, Noel proceeded

to infuse more Abyssal Energy into it as he conjured barrier after barrier against it.

“[Bastion of the Boundless Abyss].”

“[Bastion of the Boundless Abyss].”

“[Bastion]…”

Eventually, after he’d conjured 10 barriers in a row, the energy within the star had finally run

out, prompting Noel to let out a wide sigh of relief as he dispelled the barriers that remained

standing.

On the other hand, Sellifer clicked her tongue as she let out a faint sigh.

“Alright. You passed my test.” Giving the Azure Serpent Staff back to Valyr, the woman

immediately sported a serious expression as she looked at Noel from afar.

“I’m a woman of my word.”

“I’ll teach you how to wield Azure Energy.”

“But don’t blame me if you don’t end up wielding it in the end, okay?”
