Part Wolf

Chapter 438 - 438: Let Me Handle This

Chapter 438 – 438: Let Me Handle This

The goddess cocked her head to the side in confusion. Was there more at stake than life and death? She wondered, staring at the screen curiously. Did she hear that right? Was it all about William then, for Vera? But why then was the witch helping her with it?

Vera gulped, turning towards the door. "But-" She said, looking unsure.

The witch forced a smile onto her face, the anger hidden behind those features apparent to anyone with a good eye. Luna's mind pushed the most apparent possibility at her. A short laugh escaped her chest as she watched the two women interact. It was not surprising that the wolf couldn't see what was in the witch's mind.

The woman was hiding it quite well. And Vera, innocent to her plans, was clinging onto the woman that was soon going to stab her behind her back, taking what Luna could now see as the most precious thing in her life- more precious than her sanity.

"Let me handle this. You cannot seduce him with what you have now." Circe said, pushing the wolf slightly towards the window.

Vera's angst slipped out of her eyes as tears, running down her pale cheeks only to soak into her coarse cotton dress. But the witch had already turned away from the woman, ignorant of the turbulent feelings of the werewolf that was on the verge of breaking from her own indecisiveness.

The goddess sighed, shaking her head. She could see the red strands of fate straining against the woman's fingers. One step more, and it was sure to break, separating her from her fated partner for eternity. It was sad that the two did not share a mate bond. If they had, maybe William and Vera would not be in this state today, Luna thought to herself.

With a torn look in her eyes, Vera shifted, shredding through her clothes as she became the animal that she was trying to subdue only moments ago. She raised her big paws towards the windowsill, taking one last look towards the door with her huge brown eyes.

"Do not return till sundown," Circe whispered without even looking back at the pitiable creature.

The creature watched the witch's features morph back into a mirror image of herself. The wolf's head lowered in misery. But she nodded in agreement nonetheless. Without wasting another second, the animal flashed out the window, breaking off the red strand of fate that tied her to the alpha.

Weighed down by her own emotions, the wolf settled outside the window, lying low while leaning towards the mud wall, its ears sharpened eagerly. With a quick spell, Circe reduced the shredded clothes into dust just as a knock sounded against the door. Taking a deep breath, the witch turned the knob, opening the door wide for the guest.

A tall man stepped into the room, his silvery blonde hair shining under the brilliant moonlight that was streaming in through the window. He was as wet as the woman standing in front of him, her head bent low in respect as she waited for him to step away from the door.

"Who were you talking to?" William asked, his light brown eyes scanning the premises in suspicion.

Circe smiled, closing the door shut. "Myself." She said, leaning against the wooden surface as she brought her hands over her chest shyly.

It was obvious that the woman was a trained liar. There were no traces of guilt nor of hesitation on her face. The alpha turned to her with raised brows. But the determination on his face immediately faltered as his gaze fell on the woman's figure.

His gaze traveled down her body where her wet dress clung to every dip and curve like a thin film, leaving sparsely anything to the imagination. Something hard started to grow between his legs, straining against his own wet clothes. His eyes flashed yellow, awakening the hungry beast within him.

"Why?" He asked, his voice thick with lust.

"Because I was nervous." The witch replied, offering him a smile that was eerily similar to that of the woman that she was trying to pass off as.

The alpha turned away from the woman, swearing under his breath. A nervous laugh escaped his lips. "Why would you be nervous?" He asked, trying to appear as unbothered as possible, glaring at the organ that was now making it hard for him to keep his dignity.

The witch smiled, baring her white teeth, knowing that the man couldn't see her. Her illusion flickered for a moment as she stepped towards the alpha. Circe put a palm to her chest, her hand shaking as she whispered a quick spell. The next moment, she fell forward, her eyes wide in shock as the man turned around to block her fall.

"You!" He exclaimed, looking at the woman in concern. "Are you alright?"

Circe nodded, flashing a nervous smile at the man. "It doesn't matter." She said, steadying herself. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at the alpha, her brown eyes staring into his. "William, I-"

"Yes?" He asked, his heart beating fast with the proximity.

The witch raised her hands, grabbing her wet dress by its deep neck. "I love you." She whispered, closing the gap between the two of them.

With a single movement, Circe tore the dress off of her, pressing her pale naked body against the man as her eyes raised to his face in expectation. She pushed her hair away from her neck, baring it for him as she tilted her head towards the side. The alpha shuddered in pleasure. The moment his fangs elongated, Luna turned away from the sight.

With a wave, the mirror vanished, and the glowing strands of moonlight dispersed. Luna's face was flushed, and her chest rising and falling in excitement. She cursed under her breath as she started walking forward. The thought of the two stones watching the moment with her was more embarrassing than anything else.

'Where are we going, master?' The Tohar Sehlah's voice echoed in her head.

The goddess chuckled, scratching the back of her head awkwardly. "Back to the hut before someone notices. We have so many things to ponder upon." She rambled on, trying to sound as normal as possible. "Ahh, don't you think that tonight's moon looks especially beautiful?"

'It looks the same to me.' The Dam Sehlah replied dismissively.

The goddess huffed, rolling her eyes as she increased her pace. Now that the fog had cleared, she was able to find her way through the forest easily. Turning right towards a smaller road, she jogged, wanting to get away from the place as soon as possible. Why was the damn Island always so sexually charged? She wondered, gritting her teeth.

It took her half an hour to reach the intersection that the pack had first brought to for a public trial. The place was deserted, with no trace of a single wolf out and about. It should have been a normal sight, especially at this time of the night, but she couldn't shake the feeling off of her chest that something was off.

Luna slowed down, her brows scrunched in confusion as she looked around the settlement. The pack should have returned to their houses by now. The ritual was long completed. Then where was everyone? She wondered, walking towards the only path that led towards the alpha's house.
