Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 59: Joining the fray

Chapter 59: Joining the fray

Shane was astonished to see such a large territorial fight so close to their RadiantRing shelter, which shouldn’t be happening because the system normally provided newly constructed shelter a certain degree of safety for the first month of their construction.

This was suspicious and Shane began to wonder if there was something wrong with the shelter or if the cave he was inside was already far enough from the Shelter to avoid the system’s natural provided “safety”

The shelter could also be older than what the government told the public but in this case, he would wonder why there was still the untouched elemental crystal cave in front of him.

With his current funds, he would be able to reach the expert rank without problem if he relied on a 60% mana purity technique in addition to a flawed body refining technique.

Cultivation resources everyone required was relatively cheap within the system such as a mana purifying technique with a purity cap of 60% and gold quality mana gathering and body refining techniques.

One could say the cultivation and body refining technique with a [Gold] quality and below were rather cheap while everything above could be seen as above average, even though it was only by a small degree.

Some weaker races that entered the intermediate Primordial dimension without going through the arduous efforts to build up their foundation had an extremely low mana purity of 60% which indicates a weak race foundation, even if they could venture directly to the intermediate Primordial dimensions.

As such one could say it was extremely unfair for the system to provide many weak races with resources to build up a foundation while it neglected `stronger` races with their weak foundation.

It was only a few days ago that Shane found out that such races could shatter their foundation by paying with valuable items and ingredients.

Shattering their foundation would also weaken their physique to a certain degree which was apparently accommodated by terrifying pain they had to endure until their strength was adjusted to the capabilities of the basic primordial dimension.

Doing so would reset their mana pool cultivation to zero and one would need to start once again from scrap, while their physique was still at a certain prowess according to the quality of ingredients and materials they used to shatter their quality.

With that, they earned the chance to build up a stronger foundation and Shane approved this process for races with a mana purity of 60%-80%.

There were also many stronger races with 80+% mana purity that wanted to achieve a perfect foundation, but Shane hadn’t heard of such prodigies, which was probably because they were the most important treasures of their race, once they accomplished a perfect or almost perfect foundation.

It was also possible that not a single race was capable of reach a perfect foundation, but Shane doubted that as who knows how many races entered the Primordial dimensions daily in order to strengthen themself.

Shane didn’t even know how many races were annihilated each day and if a race similar to humans existed somewhere.

It would definitely be interesting to see foreign races and Shane was expecting how his future would be.

While thinking about all of that, he observed the small skirmish between the two races carefully and it seemed like they were in a stalemate with dead corpses decorating the whole room.

Shane would have never called himself greedy because he lived in luxury on Igra, but somehow since he entered the primordial dimension, his desire to earn more to reach new realms ignited and unbeknownst to himself, he became extremely greedy.

It was not an obsessive type, turning him into someone who would kill other humans for it, but once he saw dead corpses, he began to see numbers instead of the dead beings, which shocked him extremely, as he questioned his own mindset.

But in his opinion, it would be even worse to let a carcass rot somewhere wasting its death and Shane decided to continue waiting for the stalemate in front of him to end.

Time passed slowly and the stalemate took already five minutes which felt like an eternity to Shane who was bored to the core as he wanted to see action.

Since he entered the primordial dimension, the last five minutes were the most boring ones stretching as if they were multiple days.

When Shane thought it was finally over, a somewhat pained howling coursed through the whole cave, and the purple furred wolf’s ears pricked as they heard the howling, that shook the cave slightly.

And only a moment later an odd roar could be heard vibrating through the cavern rooms, equally pained, wondering Shane what was going on.

Now both the scaled lizards and purple furred wolves seemed to act extremely impatient as they charged at each other, breaking the stalemate without hesitating for a single moment.

Shane wanted to walk further down below and observe a battle between two awakened beasts as he had never seen a life and death battle of such beasts, but he was still held up with dozens of wild and elite stage beasts, frustrating him.

It wasn’t that the battle in front of him was boring, rather than that it was extremely exciting to notice a fight with dozens of beasts trying to overwhelm each other with their strengths while trying to figure out the flaws of their opponents without sustaining too many injuries.

Wild- and Elite- stage beasts couldn’t be considered extremely intelligent but their instincts were what made them strong and their unconscious tactical agreement with their own brethren shocked Shane every time he fought beasts.

There were always exceptions but the pack of purple furred wolves fought together as one entity, which was a satisfying sight in Shane’s opinion.

Nevertheless, the affinity advantage of the scaled lizards was just too huge and it seemed as if the purple furred wolves were about to lose when only slightly more than ten of them were left alive.

Their morale plummeted and they were about to retreat when Shane suddenly appeared behind the scaled lizard group of slightly more than 15 individuals.

Due to their tactical agreement, the injured scaled lizards supported the less injured scaled lizards from the back and Shane calculated his chances, as a cultivator at the 8th Mortal stage with a 7th Mortal physique, with his lips curling up.

Without him knowing, his adrenaline soared and he wanted to join the fight, as the group fights against wild stage beasts weren’t pleasing for himself anymore.

It wasn’t that late-Wild stage scaled lizards or other beasts were too weak, but Shane’s high combat experience he accumulated since he was eight in addition to [Artemis’ Blessing] passive inherited skill [Hunter’s Mind] allowed him to think calmly.

Furthermore, [Artemis’ Blessing] enlarged his mana pool from the time his journey began, elevating his mana pool size from that of a normal 8th Mortal stage cultivator.

In the end, he pondered if he should join the fray or not, but seeing that almost all of the remaining scaled lizards and purple furred wolves seemed to be injured, decreasing their combat prowess by a large margin, Shane’s decision was already set in stone.

Appearing behind a heavily injured elite stage breezy scaled lizard, Shane’s presence was barely noticed by it, before the beast’s throat was already slit through.

A huge fountain of blood splattering on his face and the tier-1 shiolite dagger turned crimson red, as the breezy scaled lizard’s lifeless body collapsed on the ground with a rather dull *thump*

Shane knew that his assassination would be noticed as he circulated his mana within his lower body in order to accelerate again, as the next seriously injured scaled beast he approached roared at him.

Sensing their chance and the arrival of a mysterious new combatant that helped them, the purple furred wolves decided to charge at the scaled lizards once again, with the last try as the distraction caused by the bipedal being behind their arch-enemies benefited them.
