Reincarnated as an Energy with a System

Chapter 1508: The Reaper

Chapter 1508: The Reaper

The violet explosion shook the world. Everyone in the city felt as though a volcano had erupted in their city, as buildings shook and many crumbled right in front of their eyes. The sun appeared hidden for a few seconds before light came back to the world.

People couldn’t help but wonder just what it was that they had experienced just now.

Damian stared before him as the light vanished. He had tried his best to protect himself, but there was simply no way he could save anyone. The difference in their strength was just too much.

The golem he created had been destroyed, the air wall he made had vanished, and evidence of any semblance of effort he had put forth to protect himself had been completely eradicated. He didn’t want to turn around at this moment. He knew what he would see if he turned around. The dead bodies of his wives, the ones he loved, the ones he promised to forever protect their bodies would be scattered all around him.

He did not want to see this.

“I thought you weren’t supposed to kill people.”

Damian heard a voice, but it didn’t come from before him, but rather behind him. He heard footsteps and saw someone walk up beside him.

He looked to the side and saw a young man the same age as him standing next to him. He felt the young man’s core.

‘So weak,’ he thought. But then, so was he.

“Get up!” Ning slapped Damian on the back. “Your wives are safe, look behind you.”

Damian’s eyes opened wide as he looked at Ning before turning around to look at his wives. The seven women were together, looking both worried and confused. They seemed just as clueless as he was.

“What…”

“You will never beat him,” Ning told Damian. “It is just impossible for you to beat him, not without gathering the entire power of your planet, and well… I don’t think you can do that.” “Who… are you?” Damian asked. “Same question here. Who are you?” Yogarthis asked. He was sure he knew everyone from this planet that was worth knowing about, and yet he simply had no idea who this man was.

“My name is Ning,” Ning said. “But we can complete the introductions later. For now, may I borrow this?”

Ning grabbed Pathfinder from next to Damian before he could agree. He picked up the sword and nodded to himself. “Not a bad sword,” he said as he looked at the gold and blue sword.

On the side of the blade was a constellation drawn onto it, of which one of the stars burned brightly. Ning recognized it as the guiding star of this world, based on which the night sky charts were made.

“What is this sword called?” Ning asked.

“Pathfinder,” Damian answered.

“Hmm, that is quite a nice name. Damian, would you mind leaving the premises of this palace? I will find you later,” Ning said.

“But… but you’ll die,” the man said. “You cannot defeat him.”

“Do not worry about that. I have already defeated half a dozen of his kind. He will be no trouble at all.”

Yogarthis looked at Ning with narrowed eyes when he heard what he said. “You’ve killed my kind?” he asked. “What do you know about my kind?”

“That you are a parasite upon humanity no matter which world you go,” Ning said as a smile appeared on his face. “Do not worry, I wasn’t being disrespectful when I called you a parasite. You see, I am a parasite too, only I steal from the deadbeat gods until there is nothing of them left.”

“Hmph! Then you shall die today,” Yogarthis said as he pointed down toward Ning, only to realize Ning wasn’t in front of him. At the next moment, Yogarthis’ head came off his body as it spun around until it saw Ning standing behind him.

The head fell to the ground, confused.

Damian and the women looked in shock. They didn’t realize what had happened at all. They hadn’t even seen Ning use any Flow Art.

“Who… who are you?” Yogarthis’ severed head spoke.

“Your reaper.”

Ning placed his hand on the Yogarthis’ body, which changed to reveal his true, non- humanoid, hideous form. It was as a body with a headless body with eyes and a mouth in a man’s torso, with arms coming out that were in fact tentacles.

Yogarthis felt something happening to his body that he could not explain. He felt the presence of something else, something seemingly drilling into his core, his spirit.

And then he felt death come upon him. As the man had said, he was the reaper, and Yogarthis understood what he meant.

“The Host of the Energy System!” Yogarthis said with his eyes out wide. “How… how can this be?”

Ning raised an eyebrow, surprised that he had been recognized. None of the others had been recognized at all.

“You know who I am?” Ning asked.

“You… you should have left. How are you still here? You killed Meghilars. You killed our Galaxy’s Will. Why have you not gone yet?” Yogarthis asked.

Ning was confused for a moment, but the more Yogarthis spoke, the more he understood what was happening.

Nigel had come to this world to kill Meghilars and use his energy to open a gateway to another Universe. When she had killed him, some of these constellations must have learned who had done it. Only, they knew it was the host of the Energy System and nothing more.

As such, meeting another one, Yogarthis was certain that it was him who had done it.

Ning didn’t bother explaining that he was not the same person as a being that was on death’s door. He would instead just let him die.

“I remain here because there are scum like you to take care of. Once I rid the galaxy of your lot,

I will finally leave.”
