Chapter 714
Dio’s face immediately changed after no one remained silent even after a series of questions he threw at everyone. The atmosphere in the room immediately turned gloomy as everyone remained silent.
“Say something!” Dio said anxiously. Steve sighed and slowly explained about what happened after Thanos was killed. After listening to Steve’s word, Dio just felt that his world span and immediately fall to the ground! Natasha instantly caught Dio before he could actually hit the ground, but she immediately turned his gaze towards Steve with a frown on her face.
“Grandmaster!” Dio said bitterly. How could he be so dumb to not think of this possibility! The Red Skull was also unexpected as Dio only knew that the guy was trapped in Vormir, but how could he become Grandmaster’s underling?
Was it because he no longer had to stand by the Soul Stone?
Dio got a headache just thinking about it as the plot was completely messed up and irrelevant people began appearing out of nowhere! As Dio stood up groggily, he was annoyed and extremely furious as his effort to deal with Thanos were all in vain! Dio was obviously disappointed in himself for not killing the Grandmaster when he had the chance in the past!
But now he wouldn’t make the same mistake again! Now, he ought to calm himself down and thought of a plan despite the bad situation he was in. He didn’t know how many heroes were left after the snap, but he ought to make a viable plan in order to deal with the Grandmaster!
For now, all his plans were bad as he didn’t have sufficient information to come up with a better one. He tried his best to console himself on as he knew that the situation wasn’t irreversible. The quickest way to reverse this bad situation was to find the Grandmaster and deal with him quickly, but as the Grandmaster had complete control over the Infinity Gauntlet and all its stones, he knew that it would be a suicide mission!
“Did you guys already count the casualties?” Dio asked Natasha weakly.
“Countless! The whole world is in panic. We tried to contact Director Fury for help, but we couldn’t do so!” Natasha said worriedly.
“Let’s talk about our current situation here first!” Dio asked immediately.
“Apart from Pietro that was killed before Thanos was dealt with, T’challa, Bucky, Sam, Wanda, Stephen Strange, Peter Parker, Mantis, Loki, and Drax disappeared! In addition to that, Dr. Hank Pym’s family and Eva were killed. Scott was currently trying to contact his daughter and so, he locked himself in his room.” Natasha said worriedly.
Natasha paused as he talked about Wanda just to see Dio’s reaction before she finished her reports.
“So, where are the rest of the heroes?” Dio asked calmly.
“Vision, Carol, Rocket, and Nebula were in their room, Wong has left with the remaining sorcerer to Kamar-Taj, Rhodes has gone to the United States to report back to the government, as for Robbie Reyes, he start to wander off somewhere as he didn’t know where to go after the battle.” Natasha reported with a sigh.
This was a desperate situation but Natasha has not given up hope just yet. She understood how conflicted everyone was, so she let them deal with their own feeling first before she would move them as a hero they were!
Dio nodded and checked what power he had left in his arsenal, but after a few while, he concluded that it was doable! With his current power, he could deal with the Grandmaster, but surely, it wouldn’t be easy! Dio knew that the Grandmaster was extremely sly, and he should use it to his best advantage later.
Dio also knew that he couldn’t just barge in to wherever the Grandmaster was as he had the Space Stone to teleport himself anywhere he wanted. At the end, Dio couldn’t convey his plan to anyone as none of them was good enough!
The only thing that was doable right away was to have Carol, Rocket, and Nebula search for the Grandmaster’s whereabouts. Of course, the first stop would be Sakaar! Dio then told Shuri and Toni to work on creating a communication technology based on the Remote Transmission that Dio had from Sovereign so that they could communicate easily despite their whereabouts across the universe.
After a while, they all left Wakanda to return to the Avengers Mansion. This battle did not only hit Wakanda’s vital spot, but also left the country deserted as most of the warriors either perished in war against Thanos, or disappeared after the snap! They even lost their King!
This was why Dio told the Avengers to move to the Avengers Mansion as Wakanda was not a suitable place for them to stay right now. Meanwhile, the Asgardian that didn’t participate in the battle were also experiencing the similar thing. They had lost so many people from the snap including Freya, Thor’s mother and Heimdall!
Thor was dealing with his own demons right now as every family he had now was gone! It was a huge blow to Thor’s personality as he already promised everyone’s safety as he moved them from Asgard!
Meanwhile, Dio also lost too many immediate people on his site! His Dark Elves were reduced by half and Crystal that was supposed to sleep soundly in the Dark Battleship disappeared! He suspected that she might be already awake and left the ship on her own, but either way he lost too many people!
And Wanda! Although Dio tried to not think about it, Wanda’s disappearance was a blow that he couldn’t handle just yet! No matter how hard he tried to hide it, the killing instinct inside him kept revolting, baring its sharp teeth and claw! It was noticed by the other Avengers as well, especially Natasha, who was very sensitive about this kind of stuff. She was worried that Dio would do something irrational later on!
Bad news kept coming for a few more days. Nick Fury, Agent Maria Hill, Coulson, and numerous others prominent SHIELD’s figures had disappeared. The only one that received a good news was Tony, as Pepper was safe!
Scott’s daughter was safe, but as Natasha finally managed to contact Barton, Hawkeye was on turmoil as his entire family was gone! When Hawkeye finally showed up, he was extremely unruly! His eyes were bloodshot with so many wounds on his body!
He had become a vengeful wraith that killed any criminal associations he could lay his hands on for a few months after the snap! All because he had nothing to lose anymore!
