Chapter 510: An Unexpected Gain

Chapter 510: An Unexpected Gain

“Wilson…” Erina looked at Wilson as she tried to stand up only to stagger and be caught by Axel.

“I used Sharpness Formations on the bullets…it must be hurting like hell…help her a bit…” Axel said with an uncomfortable look as he passed her to Lisa.

He had once actually shot himself to experiment and really regretted it. Those things really hurt…

“Wait! I have to talk…” Erina tried to struggle when Wilson spoke to her, “We will talk later…”

Lisa looked at Max and then at Mark who nodded, willing to look after him before she left with Erina.

“She really did a number on me…” Axel said as he collapsed down. He just didn’t want to look weak in front of the witch and had been holding back. And now that she was gone, he finally fell to the ground.

“Why did you bring her here?” Max asked curiously.

“What’s with the blindfold?” Axel questioned him instead of answering.

Everybody’s smile left their faces on hearing that, especially Lear who suddenly fell to his knees after remembering something which he didn’t want to..

“Uh..” Axel turned his head towards Mark only to see him waving his palm around his neck signalling him to abort venturing into the dangerous path.

“Anyway, I brought her here because of this dude….ask him not me..” Axel heeded Mark’s warning and continued with the main topic.

Everybody looked at Wilson.

“I just came across a guy who was hell bent on killing me for some reason….” Wilson finally spoke as he explained to them about his encounter with Neo.

“Poison…well that’s certainly one way to do it..” Axel muttered after hearing to him while Kevin tended to his wounds.

“Still, I don’t understand why you have to bring her here…”  He further added.

“I don’t know if Neo’s the only one who has such intentions….not to mention, there are others from his family in the Ocien’s team…do you want me to leave her in that place without even properly explaining it to her..”

Axel couldn’t deny that Wilson was wrong here.

«Mark: Is it because of the power struggle in your family?»

Mark knew the topic was a bit delicate to discuss like this and hence switched to the chat.

«Wilson: It might be…but I have been having these weird vibes ever since coming in contact with that guy…I feel it’s not just that simple…»

«Wilson: What’s more.. this guy belongs to my mother’s family…if they really wanted to engage in a power struggle, shouldn’t they approach me and try to take my side…»

Max frowned, Wilson’s words were correct.

«Wilson: Take a look at this….I retrieved this weapon from that guy. It’s very strange…”

Max took the dual sided spear from Wilson and tried to see if he could get any reaction from it. But, he couldn’t….it was just like a normal object….

If it weren’t for the fact that Wilson had said that he had seen strange flashes from it, he would have thought it was your normal weapon.

‘Andriel, what do you think?’ Max asked inwardly.

‘It’s either a normal object or it’s blocking my perception….’ Andriel replied before thinking a bit and further continuing, ‘Try to use your telekinesis on it…’

Max circulated his spirit energy and let it out but the moment he tried to control the spear, it was as if someone had touched this dragon’s reverse scale.

“Boom!”

Max clearly had not prepared for such a violent rejection. He was thrown away and his body broke through the wall sending him flying out of the place.

“Well, that seemed painful..” Axel muttered looking at the weapon which was still hovering in mid air. But it only lasted for a second before it fell back onto the floor.

Max on the other hand laid on the ground looking at his hand which had been burned black.

The painful feeling still wasn’t toning down. He even felt that his regeneration wasn’t properly working on this thing.

‘Sprites!’ Andriel’s surprised voice rang out in Max’s mind.

‘It’s another one of the 12 Spirit Races…that thing is definitely another spirit shell…’ She said looking pretty confident about it.

‘Is it…it’s very violent that’s for sure…’ Max replied.

‘Sprites are like that…they have low level of intelligence…only the Sprite King which leads the race is intelligent among them…’

‘The sprite in the artifact must have attacked because he didn’t find you familiar and treated you as a threat…’

Well, at least they found another spirit shell that was a good thing, even though he ended up miserably…

“What are you doing here like this?”  A voice entered Max’s ears and he had already sensed people approaching.

He could tell from the voice that it was Beli. Behind her were Eren and Zenith.

Beli seemed to have coincidentally found Zenith and while the two were out hunting they seemed to have coincidentally encountered Eren who was on his way back to the base.

She had just arrived here only to see Max lying there like a dead guy and couldn’t help but stoop to take a look at him.

“Why are you lying down her-” Beli stopped midway as her eyes met with Max.

Max didn’t seem to have realised that his blindfold had slid off to his neck due to the impact. He was supposed to be in darkness and not out in the open.

So, when their eyes met…the two became silent…

“Stop them!!!!”

Zenith and Eren were almost scared when they saw Lear and Mark inside scream at them from the hole in the wall.

Stop…

Whom?

The two really didn’t have any idea what was going on…

But they suddenly looked at the two people front of them and their eyes widened.

Beli’s hairs were all over Max’s head. Even though they couldn’t see what was happening in their…

Didn’t it seem…..

Eren and Zenith exchanged glances. But no one moved to stop…

Even though they felt a bit weird at their actions.

It was even weirder and ill-mannered to interrupt people in that situation…and why should they…..it wasn’t their matter to interfere…it was those two’s personal choice after all…
