Chapter 196 THE LAST PURE BLOOD
196 THE LAST PURE BLOOD
Who would have thought that the thing that Serefina thrust into her body rudely and without any explanation would actually backfire on her?
"But, Serefina…" Raine slowed down her steps until Serefina was walking beside her. "Why do you think the spell of the blue flowers does not working on me too? You said the horn of unicorn could repel some magic spells and curses, but I don't think this spell is in the same level as yours earlier, right?"
In Raine's mind, Serefina's spell to turn her mute was a plaything for the witch.?But if Serefina could not nullify the spell of the blue flowers that was shielding the hut from her sight, then that spell must be really strong.
However, why didn't the spell of the blue flowers work on Raine?
"I thought about that also."?Serefina grumbled.?Since Raine said she could see the hut, Serefina has been trying to repel the spell that protected it, to no avail.
Actually, she could resolve it by burning down the entire field of blue flowers, but that would not be a good greeting to the owner of the hut.
Raine hummed as she thought about other possibilities. "Maybe this horn of unicorn gives me another power?" She voiced out her opinion.
"Nonsense." Serefina waved her hand, dismissing the idea. "It's probably because the spell of the blue flowers is still within the horn's range of ability."
"But you can't see it still." Raine blurted out. Her comment seemed to imply that Serefina was weaker than the witch that put the spell around them.
Upon seeing Serefina's face turn ashen, Raine walked ahead and did not bother her again. It really does not matter anyway what the reason was. Raine thought what happened was still a good thing for her.
In complete silence, they went on towards the hut located at the top of the hill.?The moonlight shone upon them, casting long shadowson the ground as they moved along.
When they were close enough for Raine to inspect the house, she could see the dilapidated wooden fence surrounding it.?The fence was only as high as her waist.
"We are here."?Raine said while pushing open the wooden gate, its hinges squeaking loudly.
Serefina followed Raine inside and only then was she able to see the hut.
At first Serefina was a little bit surprised at how the hut remained the same from the last time she was here.?It was like the passage of time did not affect it at all.?But then again, she realized that the hut never changed because, after all, time in this place is not real.
Serefina tapped into Raine's power to bring them back in time.?This was even centuries before the Great War between the Lycanthropes and the Devil happened.
Once inside, Serefina stopped and looked around.?Suddenly she felt a rush of nostalgia sweep through her.
Minutes passed and Serefina still did nothing.?Finally, Raine suggested, "Should we call the owner?"
"There is no need. He will come out." Serefina said.?Her lime green eyes flickered as she watched the door of the hut open.
Out came a man that was very tall and skinny.?He was wearing black clothes and pants and his hair was as red as fire, the same color as Serefina's.
"Who are you? How could you trespass my place?" The man's rough voice boomed across the distance. He walked closer towards Serefina and Raine.
Raine could feel the anger coming from the man and she shrunk back behind Serefina who held her ground and did not move an inch, waiting for the man to come nearer.
"Good evening, Mr. Alizon,"Greeted Serefina.
The man stopped right in front of Serefina, but before he could get any angrier when the young woman did not answer his question, his eyes fell on Serefina's red hair and her captivating lime green eyes.
"You…?" His frown deepened. "Who are you?"
Fiery red hair and clear lime eyes were the distinctive features of a pure blood witch. However, he knew that he was the last remaining pure blood witch in this realm.?So where did this woman come from??He could not remember anyone mention about there being another pure blood witch anywhere else.
"How did you know my name?" The man became agitated and when he heard a squeaky sound from the door being opened, he ordered, "Go inside Cassandra!"
A delicate woman appeared from behind the door and remained standing on its threshold. Her fiery long red hair flew with the wind.?She was captivating beyond words, an ethereal beautyunder the moonlight.
"Fabian, who are they?" The woman named Cassandra ignored her husband's command but she did not approach them.
Serefina's eyes turned foggy the moment Cassandra came into her line of sight, but she answered them with a steady voice. "My name is Serefina and this is Raine." She grabbed Raine's wrist and pulled her to stand beside her.
"Serefina…" The man named Fabian enunciated her name. "… You are a witch." That was a statement.
"Yes, I am."?Serefina nodded, but did not explain further.
"What clan are you from?" Fabian looked at Serefina's red hair once again and stared deeply into her lime green eyes.
"I don't belong to any clan."?Serefina answered truthfully.?She did not need to associate with any other witch in her real era. She was the last pure blood witch and was strong enough to stand on her own.
Serefina's answer made Fabian frown and then his eyes fell on Raine. "She is not a witch. She is an angel." He stated.?"What is an angel doing in the land of witches?"
