THE LOVE OF A LYCAN

Chapter 195 THE HORN OF UNICORN

195 THE HORN OF UNICORN

"But it disappeared into my body." Raine touched her chest where the horn had disappeared. "Will I be all right with that thing in my body?" She was worried.?Serefina mentioned before that in order to win the war, her death was necessary.?But she would not die now, would she?

As long as there was time, she was pretty sure that with Torak, they could still figure out what to do to deflect that dreadful fate.?Just like Torak had said, the guardian angel did not survive the war because no one cared enough to protect them.?Indeed, it sounded cruel to her.?But if someone did care otherwise, who knew what the outcome would be.

"The horn of a unicorn is for your protection." Serefina looked to her right and then to her left, as if looking for the right direction.?Thenshe turned to her left and walked on.

"Protection? Will it give me some kind of power?"?Raine asked. Though her night gown was made of thin fabric, she felt comfortable.?The air was warm like that of a summer night.?"Like flying perhaps??Or moving things without touching them?"

The thought that she could do that sort of thing excited her.

"It's. For. Protection." Serefina said every word sternly.

Raine frowned. "Protect me from what?"

Serefina abruptly stopped, turned around and glared at Raine who blinked her eyes innocently.?She put on an expectant expression as if she was not aware that the witch was almost at her wit's end.

Although Raine did that to irritate Serefina, half of her questions were something that she really wanted to know the answers to.

Raine thought that asshe already missed her breakfast and wouldalso be missing her lunch with Torak anyway, the least she could do was to not go easy on Serefina.

"Protect you from spells - magic spells, dark spells and curses up to a certain point.?The horn of a unicorn could repel those." Serefina explained impatiently. "You need that because we will enter the village of witches."

Serefina continued walking.

"Village of witches… village of angels… is there a village of fairies?" Raine remembered the fae that she met when Torak took her to Reika Country. The fae was so beautiful and stunning.?It would be wonderful to see one of them again.

"Arrgh!" Serefina let out a frustrated growl. "What has Torak been feeding you that you became so chatty like this?!"

Serefina then waved her hand in front of Raine's face.?Rainecould feel cold wind brush her skin with that movement.

"Be quiet, I need to think."Serefina once again looked around her as if she was looking for some sign.

Raine smiled softly, seeing the witch getting annoyed.?Her smile soon disappeared when she tried to talk and no sound came out of her mouth.

Then Serefina looked up to the moon for a long time before she turned to her right.

After five minutes of walking, Serefina stopped again.

With nothing else to do, Raine continued following Serefina.?She looked around her, but all she could see were endless fields of blue flower.

"These flowers are so disturbing!" Serefina grumbled angrily. "Should I burn them down?" She mumbled to herself.

Raine could notunderstand how the flowers are related towhat Serefina was looking for, but since Serefina did not tell her anything, Raine could not help her.?And she could not ask her again because she made her mute.

Raine however noticed that on her left side, there were torches emitting blue light of fire that were dancing with the wind.?As she continued staring at it, she could gradually distinguish a hut in the distance.

The hut was not there before, so how did it suddenly appear?

Raine tugged at Serefina's sleeves, but she swatted her hand away again and again. "Stop it Raine!?I must concentrate."

Irritated, Raine shouted at Serefina. "There is a hut over there!" She pointed at the direction of the hut.

However, that was not the thing that surprised them both.

"You can talk!?" The pitch of Serefina's voice was so high it hurt Raine's ears.

"I can talk?" Raine was also confused.?"But you said I will not be able to talk for three hours, yet it's been only ten minutes."

They looked at each other with furrowed brows.

"No. You're not supposed to be able to talk." Serefina said in wonder, denying what was obvious.

This was not the first time that Raine was able to break her spell.?The first occasion was when Serefina tried to strangle her. Raine broke her spell by moving her hand and scratching her face.

And then now…

"How did you do that?" Serefina asked Raine.

Of course Raine could not answer that.?How was she supposed to know? She had done nothing in particular to counter the spell.?"I don't know.?You were the one who put the spell on me, maybe you lifted it accidentally?"

"Ridiculous." Serefina scoffed.

But then Raine remembered something. "The horn of unicorn." She pointed at her chest. "You said it repels all spells, right?" Her face beamed with this new realization.

Serefina's face fell upon hearing that.

"It really works!" Raine touched her chest while laughing when she saw Serefina's expression turn sour.?"So is that the hut that you were looking for?" She pointed at the direction of the hut.

Raine was pretty sure that the hut was what Serefina has been searching for.

Meanwhile, Serefina clenched her jaw.?She did not want to admit it, but Raine was right. She was confused because of the spell cast by the flowers. Serefina hated flowerswhich was also her weakness.

"Yes."?Serefina said through gritted teeth.

"You can't see it, can you?" Raine's eyes sparkled as she taunted her.

"Shut up and let's go." Serefina yelled at her.

"Alright, follow me."?Raine waltzed ahead, gloating with triumphant smile. "I have to thank you for giving me this precious item."

At this point, Serefina really wanted to shoot Raine with a fireball.
