THE LOVE OF A LYCAN

Chapter 675: Knocked some sense into his head

Chapter 675: Knocked some sense into his head

It was hard for Lilac to believe.

For her own decision to come to that realm, the girl was simply lost for words. Should she knew what she was about to face, she would have gone far, far away from this realm. That way she didn't have to deal with that man named Jedrek. With the killing order that he commanded a long time ago, he chose to have nothing to do with her anyway. It once had cost her life. Now it cost a never ending headache.

With all the thinking that she had in mind, she swore that the next time she saw him again, she would teach him some lessons. For being such a bastard who had caused so many troubles in her life. But that wouldn't happen any time soon.

She wanted to talk to Selene so badly. The Moon Goddess should know better not to pair the both of them as mates to each other. But, at this moment, when Lilac desperately needed to see the Moon Goddess the most, she had decided not to show herself.

Maybe with me being a little rebel this time around, it might force her to appear. So we could negotiate this impossible-to-execute mission.—Lilac said to herself. But then, she frowned when she looked at the horrible sight in front of her. Burning buildings, mounds of rubbles, the heart shattering scream from the citizens, and the howling beasts. With all those sights being seen, she just couldn't believe her eyes.

It was as if an earthquake shook the foundation of the kingdom, while an asteroid plummeted from the sky.

What a devastating scene.

Lilac had been in the city central, a few weeks before the ruthless lycan king put her under some kind of illusion, trapping her inside that magical place for almost a year. Therefore, she had the opportunity to witness how beautiful the city was. It was surprising that despite Jedrek's unbearable attitude, and his thick-headed decisions, his people lived in glory under his reign.

But the scene that she witnessed now, was not the beautiful city that it was once. This was a nightmare, created in the darkest despair, and brought to life.

"Is this the consequences that you were talking about? Does Jedrek know about this?" Lilac gulped down hard.

"I'm sure he already found out about this." Eaton frowned, his expression hardened. "We should not be here, we have to go."

Eaton realized that this was the sign that Jedrek was talking about. The lycan king had told him that whatever it would be, he would know that it was the time, when it came. And once it came, he must absolutely bring Lilac away to the Northern Region, whether she was already awake or not. His other generals would be waiting for them in the Northern Region.

However, Jedrek didn't say anything about himself. Hell! He had never talked about what was going on inside his thick-skulled mind. It would be just orders, more than that was not to be questioned.

"Right, we have to go." Lilac walked towards the entrance gate of the castle, but before she could take another step closer, Eaton held her arm and stopped her.

"No, we have to leave this city." Eaton shook his head. "It is not safe to be here!" he was half-shouting above the sound of the crumbling buildings around them. He realized what Lilac's intention was, and he just couldn't let her do that.

Right, Lilac should not be here. Didn't she really intend to stay away from Jedrek? Had her determination become weak now, after what she heard about him? "No, we need to get to the castle," she said calmly. Even she was surprised to hear how calm her voice sounded. But deep down in her heart, she knew that she was doing the right thing.

The path to the castle wouldn't be simple. There were obstacles waiting for them. They shouldn't be surprised to find more wreckage, and damages behind the gigantic wall.

"No, Lilac." Eaton shook his head. His grip tightened now. He was insisting. "Jedrek doesn't want you to be here."

Lilac scoffed when she heard his name and her presence being in one sentence. "Since when do I listen to him?" She pulled her arm, trying to break free from Eaton's grip. Since it was a direct order for him, he refused to let go.

"He might be your king, and you might submit to him. But let me tell you once and for all, he is not my king, he is not my Alpha. He refused the mate bond between us, and he's far from the figure of a knight with shining armor." Lilac said furiously.

"This is for your own safety." Eaton knew that Jedrek was stubborn. But, he just couldn't understand why the Moon Goddess gave a more stubborn of a creature, to match the Alpha's stubbornness? On top of that, as his once in a lifetime mate.

"He was the very source of my miserable life. After what he had done to me, it's my turn to settle the score." Since Lilac couldn't set herself free from Eaton's grip, she had to use her power to help herself. Roots, and vines emerged from the ground. They crept on Eaton's body, sneaking on his arms and forced him to release Lilac.

"Lilac, this is not the right time for revenge." Eaton looked at the things that glided on his arm worriedly.

Ignoring Eaton's words, Lilac said contemptuously, "Must he die in this tragedy, I should be the one who kills him."

Eaton was left dumbfounded. Never had he ever heard such a bold statement from someone. To kill the Alpha king? But, seeing how upset she was now, after the fact that she was intentionally kept unconscious for almost a year, with the incredible ability and the unusual power that she possessed, that was not really an impossible measure for her to do.

On the other hand, without waiting for Eaton's response, Lilac turned around. She made her way to the castle.

"Jedrek could be anywhere!" Eaton shouted back at Lilac desperately when the girl was staring at the closed gate. By the way she looked, he assumed that she was thinking about how to crush that gigantic, and heavy steel gate.

"He's inside!" Lilac shouted at him. She could feel it, that he was still inside.

Eaton looked down as part of him wanted Lilac to just give up her idea of bringing down the iron gates, for it was impossible for her to do that. But the other part of him was curious to see what she would do, or what else she could do.

Apparently, after some time, and deep calculation inside her head, Lilac made up her mind. She realized that she wouldn't be able to destroy the annoying, majestic looking iron gates. No matter how strong her roots were. Therefore, she took three steps back, and conjured more roots as big as trunks. She turned those roots into some kind of a magical bridge that would let her jump over the high gate, and wall.

Eaton's jaw dropped, along with the vines that held him for a while. He shook his head in disbelief. He just witnessed the most incredible sight, of how easy Lilac was dealing with the hurdle, and how swiftly she moved.

She leapt to the giant bridge made of roots that traversed from the ground all along to the highest part of the gate. Her delicate figure disappeared when she jumped to the other side of the gate, without much of hesitation. Seeing what she was doing, it made Eaton think that Jedrek maybe was wrong all this time about guardian angels.

The girl in front of her was one of them after all. And she was anything, but she was not weak. People could see it clearly, in fact it was impossible not to notice that whether it was her mind, or soul, she was strong. The strongest female that Eaton had ever seen in his life.

This probably was what the Alpha king needed all along. He needed someone who could knock some senses into his head, literally.?And the girl might be just the right match for him.
