Chapter 861: Crybaby
Chapter 861: Crybaby
Raine remembered that blue lizard, she had seen it once in the past, when Serefina took her back to her hometown after the strange sickness that she suffered and Raine had to be parted with Torak for a few months.
And that was also the reason why Torak moved to that city as well.
"I know that is Serefina's lizard," Raine said, this time, upon a closer look, she was sure it was the same lizard. "How did you get that?" she frowned.
"Are you kidding? Blue lizard is quite common, everyone can have it." But then the dwarf corrected himself. "Every supernatural creature can have it," he said firmly.
Yet, it didn't convince Raine enough, she turned around and looked at Hope. "Did you ever see that blue lizard? I think that is Serefina's," Raine asked her. She insisted that it was the witch's pet.
Hope stood up and walked closer, but the dwarf hid the blue lizard.
"I don't know Raine, I have never seen Serefina grooming a lizard," she said, trying to recall her memories with the witch, but she was sure she had never seen this blue creature.
"See?" the dwarf puffed his chest triumphantly. "I told you. Now, stop talking about this lizard and take my hands, I will take you somewhere to show you something."
"But, I am sure that is Serefina's lizard," Raine murmured as she stared at the nape of the dwarf, where the lizard had disappeared inside his hoody of the cloak he was wearing.
"I don't think I want to go with you alone," Hope said after she thought about this over. "I don't trust you enough to take us somewhere that we don't know."
The dwarf dropped his arms and frowned at Hope. "So, what do you want? Ask your mate to come with us?"
"Of course not, they are very busy," Hope said and gave Nutdrouk a nasty look, she didn't like this dwarf's attitude. Kace had told her that the dwarfs were cunning creatures. Their words couldn't be taken seriously because as long as there was someone who could benefit them more, their loyalty would switch as easy as you snapped your fingers.
Not very often people would have a deal with a dwarf, unless you knew how to play the game with him.
In that case, Hope and Raine wouldn't bet their life on it.
"So, what do you want to do?!" Nutdrouk asked in a frustrated tone, he didn't like it when people started to question him, though he felt that if he was in their shoes, he would question himself too.
"But, we can ask someone else to join us," Hope looked at the dwarf with bright eyes.
"Who?"Raine and Nutdrouk asked Hope simultaneously. They didn't have any idea what was inside her mind.
==============
Raphael and Calleb were training with the the lycanthrope warriors from different regions and realms, whom Torak, Kace and Jedrek had summoned for a meeting, so they could discuss about the strategies and exchange some information.
They just arrived in this city two days ago and after a day of resting, they were ready to learn new techniques from the Beta and the Gamma, while their leaders were busy talking about other things with Kace and Torak.
Actually, if Lana was not in a special condition, she would like to join this training too, since she had faced various creatures on her missions that were delegated by Serefina.
However, with her being pregnant, not to mention about joining the fight, Raphael would flare if she even went any close to the arena, the beta was afraid someone would bump into her or she might receive a stray punch.
Yet, Lana would check on him from time to time because there was nothing she could do and no one would give her any task, even the smallest ones, as they knew whose lycan she belonged to.
No one would mess up the mate of the supreme Beta.
Therefore, here Lana was, sitting at the far end seat while staring at her mate, who looked very hot when he took down one of the warriors from the north region and tiger shifters.
"See, your father is very cool," Lana caressed her bump and smiled indulgently, she loved what she was seeing now. "I hope everything will pass and we can live happily."
"I hope for the same too."
A soft voice spoke from behind Lana and it was Rosie and Bree. Lana was too engrossed in her own thoughts that she didn't realize until they were stood right behind her.
Bree then sat beside Lana and cheered for Raphael and Calleb, who were facing each other, the two of them were now showing another move to the warriors.
"Come on Calleb!" Bree pumped her fist in the air.
However, because of Bree's loud voice, Calleb was distracted. He knew, if Bree was there, Rosie must be there too, since she was responsible for the little girl.
That knowledge was enough to make Calleb lose his focus and get a punch from Raphael. Yet, when Calleb was down and fell on his back, the Beta didn't show any mercy and punched him again.
After the third punch, Raphael stood up and moved away from Calleb, whose lips were bleeding.
"Raph!" Calleb growled as he wiped the blood from his lips and glared at the Beta. "What was that for?!"
Ignoring Calleb's protest, Raphael talked to the rest of the people. "Ten minutes break!" after that he rushed toward Lana, but he didn't forget to jeer at Calleb. "Serves you right!"
Calleb growled at him, but then he immediately picked himself up and rushed toward Rosie, who had been waiting for him and looked worried.
"Are you okay?" Rosie asked with concern when Calleb stood in front of her. She stretched out her hand to touch his blood.
Actually, the wound was not that serious, it had already healed even before he approached her. But…
"It hurts… he punched me very hard," Calleb whined and his face twisted pitifully.
"Crybaby," Bree sneered softly.
