Chapter 67
Chapter 67
Luciel said shyly and nodded her head.
“I’ll show you later.”
“Yes. Hahaha.”
‘It’s amazing that she can grow a wand in such a short time. Besides, I don’t quite understand yet, but she wants to put a lot of different types of power inside it.’
Gillard had a contented face as he stroked his chin.
Luciel was embarrassed by his bold gaze, so she opened the carrot bag and took out some strawberry candy. She approached the two of them and held out the candy placed on her tiny palms.
“Grandpa, Miss Erika. Would you like some candy?”
Gillard picked up the candy first, peeled the package, and put it in his mouth. His eyes widened.
“Very tasty. This is the famous strawberry candy that’s rumored around the Castle.”
“Grandpa, shh.”
Luciel gave a slight signal, and Gillard bit his lips as if he knew it. Erika also picked up a candy.
“Thank you for the food, Lady Luciel. I will give this to my brother.”
New information has been obtained.
‘Erika had a younger brother.’
It was a fact I didn’t know. I thought it would be good to take care of her younger brother as well. If Luciel had her Older Sister, she would have taken care of her like that, because it’s good to share delicious things.
“Wait a minute.”
Luciel opened the bag and shook it off. A few more well-packaged candies fell out.
“I’m candy rich, so I will give you all of this.”
Erika blushed as she took the candy.
“You have a nice heart, too. Thank you very much, Miss Luciel.”
“Then I will go back now. Grandpa, I’m going! Miss Erika, see you again!”
Luciel greeted the two of them and went back with a smile on her lips, as she thought she had left a good impression on Erika.
The two waved their hands as they looked at the direction where Luciel disappeared. Gillard secretly glanced at Erika, who was taking over her research documents from his office, as if inwardly proud of his granddaughter-in-law.
“Our Luciel. Isn’t she cute?”
“Yes? Ah……she is.”
“These days, she’s the joy of my life.”
Erika smiled slightly at Gillard’s unfamiliar appearance of smiling as he thought of Luciel. For the other wizards and mages in the Tower, this would be unimaginable.
But his feelings were understandable. A little girl named Luciel, whom she met for the first time, was really cute but also looked quite smart.
“That child is learning magic under me now.”
“……I-Is that true? Then, are you raising her as an official disciple?”
“It’s still unofficial.”
It meant that he was willing to accept her as an official disciple. Being his disciple was not literally just learning magic. It was said that there was a possibility that they would be officially introduced to the Wizard’s Tower, registered as a member of the Wizards’ Association, and work as a wizard.
However, considering the actions of Bellstein so far, such a thing has never happened.
The Duke of Bellstein and the Young Master of Bellstein also had great talents in magic, but they never showed up in the Magic Tower, let alone register at the Wizards’ Association.
Aside from that, there was one thing she was curious about.
What did Miss Luciel do to capture Master Gillard’s heart?
He never had disciples. To the extent that he refused even the imperial family’s call, and almost all, if not everyone, from the Towers were anxious to become his disciple.
To be a child chosen by Gillard like that had a different meaning. She must be special. Erika recalled Luciel’s astonishingly transparent and twinkling eyes.
“Her eyes really shone like jewels.”
“Just like her eyes, Luciel has a very clear and pure mana. She’s a child with a bright future ahead.”
“……When you say it like that, I can’t even fathom how big her potential is.”
I thought he was ignorant of giving out compliments, but now that I see it again, he seems to be a soft-hearted person to his grandchildren and granddaughter-in-law.
“Oh, Erika. I have one request. As soon as you finish organizing the data, will you call Eres from the tower?”
“Why are you looking for Eres?”
Erica asked while tapping her lips.
“I’m going to test Luciel’s magic skills.”
Gillard’s request surprised Erika. Although her little brother, Eres, was the youngest and had the lowest circle in the tower, Luciel was much younger than him, and it seemed that she had just learned magic.
“Miss Luciel and Eres?”
“Yes. It would be nice if you could help me out.”
He was trying to put a wizard and a mage into one child’s magic test. Erica was slightly surprised inside, but nodded her head.
“I’ll finish organizing the data today and bring Eres with me. Call me too if you need me. But you know that I’m not as good at magic as Eres.”
“Well, yeah. Maybe up to two people is too much. Anyway, I’ll be in your care.”
“All right.”
She herself developed curiosity and a crush on the child named Luciel. A girl as white as milk that had a lovely appearance like a rabbit.
To be honest, Erika was a sucker for cute things. Her little brother, Eres, also had a cute face, but his actions and tone of voice were far away from the realm of cuteness.
But Miss Luciel was different. She warms the hearts of the viewers….
Not to mention her kind heart. When she held out candy with her small maple leaf-like hands, Erika’s heart sank to the floor without her realizing it.
She quietly smiled as she grabbed the cotton doll hanging from her bag.
‘Yes. She looks just like the doll I carry around as a decoration. Tiny and cute!’
It was only their first meeting, but Erika felt that she would like to see Luciel again in the future.
* * *
“Little Madam!”
As she saw Luciel returning from Gillard’s study, Eva quickly came to her.
“Eva?”
“I was wondering where you were. Do you have time right now?”
Luciel was in a good mood since she met Erika today. She was thinking about having a quick sweet snack or taking a break while reading a book in the library.
“Yes, I’m free right now.”
“That’s a relief. You always looked busy.””
Eva smiled softly. Luciel was slightly nervous, wondering if she was moving too frantically unlike an ordinary child.
Eva put a large candy in Luciel’s hand and said.
“Do you know how to waltz, Little Madam?”
At the unexpected question, Luciel shook her head. She danced with her sister for fun as a child, but she never properly learned it. Even at the Marquis’ banquet, Luciel was often ignored.
‘There is no way an idiot like Luciel can dance.’
‘I’ve never been taught….’
It wasn’t just dancing.
She didn’t know how to play chess, how to play the piano, or how to sing. Luciel had turned into an idiot who couldn’t really do anything. Although she was familiar with the etiquette by learning above people’s shoulders. She lived without learning the education or culture that most children received.
So, it was always exciting for her to learn something new.
“Then would you like to learn the waltz from me?”
“Waltz?”
Luciel looked up at Eva, with startled round rabbit-eyes. Eva was usually very straight and neat, but for some reason, it looked like she would look really good if she danced.
Thinking about how it would feel to dance and whether it would be fun, Luciel replied.
“I like it.”
“Good, I won’t take too much of your time. You will have a wedding soon, right? A young couple dances a waltz together instead of a kiss of vows.”
‘You are going to teach me in advance for the wedding.’
Well, if I don’t know how to dance at the wedding I might be in deep trouble. Nobles usually learn basic ballroom dances. I was grateful to Eva for her consideration in teaching me in advance.
“Thank you, Eva.”
When Luciel dyed both cheeks in a red blush, Eva smiled.
“I’m not very good at dancing, but please take good care of me, Little Madam.”
“Me too.”
Soliaphe, who appeared with a relaxed face from behind, listened to their conversation.
“I can’t guarantee Eva’s dancing skills. She dances in a very standard way, so it won’t be fun.”
“Ah, Lady Soliaphe!”
Luciel turned around in surprise, she was somehow relieved by Soliaphe’s somewhat relaxed appearance.
“In fact, I used to practice waltz often with the Madam.”
“Oh, I see.”
“She’s still not good at dancing.”
Eva said jokingly, but it was a very unexpected fact. I thought all the high nobles were good at dancing.
“I really hated dancing. If I have free time to dance in a dress and high heeled shoes, I’d rather practice swordsmanship.”
Soliaphe felt oddly approachable when she showed such weird quirks.
“I prefer to practice magic, but I think dancing would be fun too.”
“You are already better than me.”
Soliaphe smiled as she stroked Luciel’s fluffy hair, she then went to the sofa and sat down. It was a simple movement, but her elongated and slim body was remarkable.
“I’ll match the beat, so let’s get started.”
“Well, first of all, you have to learn the right posture.”
In that way, dance practice took place in the parlor. Rose, Bessie, other servants and the Duke’s family gathered one by one to watch Luciel’s first waltz practice.
Louivid raised his lips as he watched Luciel and Soliaphe, who were practicing waltz surrounded by people from afar. No one would have thought that a day like this, where such a peaceful landscape unfolded, would happen in Bellstein.
Tak.Tak.Tak
Quick-witted, he soon noticed someone’s footsteps. He lifted his head and quickly climbed the stairs to the upper floor. Small animal footprints were visible on the red carpet.
It was like the footprints of the snow deer on a snowy field.
As Louivid leaned against the wall and looked into the hallway, a snow deer was roaming the area.
‘It must have been frustrating inside the room.’
However, the snow deer, who was looking around, quickly slipped back into Luciel’s room, which had the door wide open. Soon after, the door was closed with a click.
‘The deer closed the door by itself?’
