Chapter 135 - Breaking The Unbreakable Barrier
Chapter 135 – Breaking The Unbreakable Barrier
The little black cub, Toby, ran as fast as he could back to the castle. Those creatures that ambushed them dragged Rinnie and Edge with them. It was his first time seeing such creatures that reeked with blood more pungent than the ferocious werewolves.
He huffed as soon as he caught werewolves guarding the castle. Like a dog, Toby desperately got their attention.
"Huh?" One of the two guards furrowed his brows, gazing down at the frantic black bear woofing. "Isn't this the one Luna took home?"
"A black chubby bear that is like a black ball…" the other one muttered, describing what he had heard about the bear Rinnie always carried in her arms. Not everyone had seen the baby cub under the grand duchess' care. But everyone had heard about it.
Seeing Toby, the two guards finally understood why their luna was fond of it. It was adorable, even though he was a black bear that would grow so big, just like those intimidating bears from beyond the border.
"Why is he out here?" the guard squatted down, watching Toby pace around in panic. "Did he get lost?"
'No! Help my mama! She's in danger! The uncle wolf with her is pathetic!' Toby grunted, desperate to be heard. But the devastating reality slapped him hard.
"He probably went out when no one is looking. Let's bring him back. Her Grace will be worried if she realizes this cub went missing." The guard gazed at his companion and nodded. "Come here, little cub. It's already night. We'll bring you back inside."
'No…' Toby's heart sank as he moved backward. 'Mama is in danger… why can't you understand?'
Deep down, the little cub already knew this won't be easy. Aside from Rinnie and the bears, no one could understand them. Wasn't that the main reason the werewolves and bears never got along? Or rather, they never had a chance to until they met Rinnie.
"Don't be afraid. I meant no harm." Toby darted his eyes between the two werewolves, who were smiling at him kindly. "We'll bring you to our luna."
'Mama is not here…' Toby ground his teeth, having no choice but to resort to other things. Hence, in a flash, he ran back to the forest.
"Hey!" the guard sprung up to his feet, watching that small ball of black ran at its fastest speed. "What the…"
"Follow him." The other werewolf elbowed his colleague. "I will go and inform her grace that the bear ran away."
The two of them looked at each other before they nodded in agreement. With that being said, one wolf went to follow Toby while the other rushed back to the castle to inform Rinnie. Little did these two know, what they were about to find out would turn the entire castle upside down.

"Cuthbert!"
The werewolf who went back inside the castle hollered at the sight of the head butler. Cuthbert, the middle-aged butler, turns his head to the guard.
"Why are you in a rush?" asked the butler with furrowed brows, studying the guard, who didn't seem in panic but still in a rush.
"We met the black cub outside, but he ran back to the forest. I came to inform Her Grace just in case she gets worried when she finds out the cub is not in the castle. My partner came after him, so tell her not to worry." the wolf reassured with a smile, but his smile immediately faded at the off reaction from the head butler.
"Luna and Sir Edge hadn't returned," Cuthbert muttered in confusion before realization struck them. They're in danger.
The werewolf snapped his eyes as he lightly jumped. "I will go after them. Send a party for a search." But just as he was about to run back, Cuthbert stopped him.
"No. Run as fast as you can to Alpha Hugo." The werewolf furrowed his brows as he looked back at Cuthbert. "Tell him something happened and he must return at once."
They looked at each other before the werewolf nodded. With that order, he rushed outside and ran towards the destination Cuthbert told him to. Meanwhile, as the wolf rushed to execute his mission, Cuthbert took a moment to gather his thoughts.
He didn't know what happened. There were too many possibilities: one of them was that the bears retaliated since Rinnie was there. If that was the case, they needed Hugo and the core members of the pack to fight the bears. But as a butler for so many years and lived in Belcoot almost his entire life, his gut feeling told him it was worse than that.
"Luna…" Cuthbert gazed at the door with shaking eyes.

"Hey! I didn't want to hurt you! Her Grace will be worried!"
Toby looked back at the werewolf hollering whilst chasing after him. His voice was echoing through the silent night, but Tody didn't stop. He was too young for this wolf to understand him. Hence, he planned to see Bowie and everyone in the tribe.
There… they would understand him.
'Bowie!! Bowie!!' Toby shouted, not slowing down his speed.
The werewolf who was hot on his tail ground his teeth. He didn't want to scare the bear, but if he ran too deep into the forest, it would be dangerous for him. Thus, the wolf picked up his pace. He would just apologize to Rinnie later if he scared the cub.
But just as the cub was within his reach, his tracks came to a halt. He looked around, seeing glowing pairs of eyes from the dark, approaching him with their grunts. For a werewolf being surrounded with bears, the wolf let out a low growl as his canines grew at the threat he felt.
Meanwhile, Toby also stopped three feet away from the wolf. He wasn't able to heave a sigh of relief as he woofed, slapping his paws on the ground.
'Bowie! Mama is abducted by weird people! The wolves can't understand me! Mama is in danger!' Toby desperately yelled so the bears could hear him.. But alas, the members of the tribe didn't lower their guard with the werewolf glaring daggers at the thought that the bears would attack him.
