Villain Cultivator

Chapter 671: Cheaters

Chapter 671: Cheaters

Chapter 671– Cheaters

“Boss, are you really giving us 10,000 RMB?”

Standing before the crowd of ten thousand players was Pan Mei, who had once competed against Miaomiao in the trial pagoda.

His real identity was Pan Xian’s son in the Divine Theocracy Earth. In this world, he was technically Pangu’s family since Pan Xian was Pangu’s real body.

And now, Pan Mei had been convincing other players, using his status as a prodigal son of Pan Xian, the CEO of Pangu Incorporate.

Behind Pan Mei was the Pylon Tower. He leaned on the tower’s wall, looking at the people in front of him.

Pan Mei laughed at them.

“No. Because I have limited resources, I can only offer you 1k RMB if you give up on the Beta Test and let me kill you.”

“B-But you said 10 grand yesterday in the telegram!”

“That was yesterday’s price. I already have enough volunteers, and I’m already level 2,000.”

Ten thousand players looked at each other in dismay.

Unlike the local NPCs in this universe, Beta Testers came here for money. They were here for the server stress testing and let the developers collect the statistics, adjusting the game balance.

However, the game company clearly stated that no players could be revived in the beta test. In exchange, Pan Xian gave them a challenge.

If they could defeat Chaos Realm Faction and Heavenly Dao Universe Faction, he would reward the surviving members with ten million USD.

Because of the challenge, many players competed to join the game. All 100,000 slots were quickly reserved.

But now, something had changed. Earlier today, several players lined up and reported to Pan Mei, but the latter happily killed them all on the Sacrificial Altar. Yet, the dead players smiled as if they had done something worthwhile.

The group of ten thousand players learned about it later from telegram. The dead players, who had already been ejected from the game, revealed what they had earned from dying.

Everybody got 10,000 RMB from Pan Mei!

Because of their greed, these people rushed to Pan Mei, who was in charge of building their faction’s structures.

“I’ll take it! I’ll take the one grand!” One of the beta testers raised his hand and squeezed himself through the crowd.

Pan Mei grinned, “Who else? I’ll only accept 5,000 people since I’m short on money!”

“…”

The crowd hesitated as 1,000 RMB was like a cheap change to them.

Still, many young players, who were under 18, never had that much money before. They raised their hands and volunteered.

“I’ll take the money!”

“Me, too!”

Pan Mei snickered. He waved his hands and shooed the crowd of players, who refused to accept his goodwill.

“For those who don’t want the 1k, get lost. If you want to be useful, go out there and man the Sage-Killing Array or something. I didn’t upgrade the walls and the city defense for decoration!”

Although both Heavenly Dao Universe, Chaos Realm Faction, and Player Faction entered this place at the same time, their resources were not equal.

Despite being in the Beta Test, Pan Mei used his own money to generate resources, such as PACTs. The cryptocurrency had been already circulating among insiders, and Pan Mei had five million of them. Without hesitation, he invested the tokens in the game!

Five million PACTs were converted into 50,000 Dao Stones. With such funds, Pan Mei already built so many structures, including refineries, smithies, and advanced buildings.

If he wanted to, he could zerg-rush the two other factions. However, Pan Mei had fought against Miaomiao and other cultivators during the alpha test, and he knew that the army’s current strength was no match against them.

Thus, he used his money again, bribing the other players to sacrifice their lives for him so that he could max his level first.

Pan Mei counted his fingers, calculating how many level-500 players he needed to kill.

“I need 990 players to kill and other 4,000 for my men. Come meet me at the Sacrificial Altar and leave me your phone number and bank account number. I’ll transfer you the money after the deed.”

“…”

Pan Mei flew toward the pyramid-like altar right away, pretending to not care about the other testers.

The young volunteering players followed Pan Mei to the altar right away.

While the people of the three factions were messing around, Pangu and Mu-Nyang observed them from afar. Both men sat on a large star, watching the show, using their superior detection range.

Mu-Nyang glared at Pangu, the half-naked barbarian giant.

“You’re cheating, munya!”

Pangu snickered, “So did you.”

“I didn’t cheat, you idiot, munya!”

“And what the hell are those PACTs and Dao Stones? Mao Miaomiao isn’t supposed to have those.”

“If you think 2,000 Dao Stones are equal to 50,000 Dao Stones and 10,000 of Great Dao Sage Mazingers, you’re a retard, munya! This game is void!”

“No can do. The game must go on. We have already made the bet.”

“Screw the bet, munya! How about you and I, mano to mano, munya!?”

Pangu laughed, “Why should we do something pointless? You know and I know that our bodies aren’t real. Our true bodies are elsewhere, am I right?”

“…”

“I can tell that your real body is hiding something on the Divine Theocracy Earth. My body is also somewhere over there. If we want to fight, how about we go gun-blazing on earth?”

“You think you have everything because you stole my power, munya?”

“Who stole your power? Hahahaha! Aren’t you imagined it? All my powers are mine!”

“I see…”

Mu-Nyang’s white fur reddened. He had never been angry in his life before. But now, he wanted someone dead.

But suddenly, his fur returned to white. He smirked at Pangu, “It would have been a shame if someone on earth were to die, am I right?”

“Huh?”

Mu-Nyang snickered. Then, he meowed.

MUNYAAAAA!

“!!!”

Pangu jumped off his seat and vanished.

Somewhere far away, the Solar System was peaceful and tranquil.

On earth, humans minded their businesses, ignoring the commotion in the universe. Most of them didn’t even know that aliens existed.

Among the modern buildings in China, people lay in sci-fi capsules, sending their consciousness to a game world.

They were the players, and the capsule was the console game, which transferred the player’s souls to their temporary vessels on the homeworld of Player Faction.

Meanwhile, in the suite room of the Pangu Incorporate’s skyscraper building, a woman had been sitting at her desk, answering phone calls for her boss.

She was Pan Xian’s wife, aka Pan Mei’s mother!

While the secretary was busy, she suddenly heard a sharp noise. Then, she collapsed.

Blood came out of her eyes, ears, and mouth. She had a seizure and fainted.

BOOM

Pan Xian pushed the door and rushed to his wife. He frowned and felt her pulse.

His wife’s heart had stopped beating.

‘HOW?!’

Pan Xian was confused. His clone and his real body couldn’t even use a strand of Qi on earth. He was confused how Mu-Nyang could remotely harm his wife with just a meow.

Still, Pan Xian didn’t give up on her. He picked up the phone and called for an ambulance. While he was at it, he called his bodyguard.

“Miao Damao! Come here!”

A few seconds later, a man with the face of Golgo 13th rushed out of a room nearby. He sat next to Pan Xian’s wife and checked her pulse. Then, he started the chest-compression routine, trying to restart her heart.

“How did she become like this, boss?!”

Pan Xian clicked his tongue, “A god did it.”

“A god?”

“A certain cat god.”

“…”

Pan Xian’s expression grimaced as he recalled the smug grin of Mu-Nyang. He hated the cat with a passion.

He didn’t notice that Miao Damao faintly smiled while he continued to press the secretary’s chest.

WHOOSH

Pangu reappeared at his usual place. He glared at Mu-Nyang, who had been licking a modern cat snack, which came out of nowhere.

“How did you do it, Mu-Nyang?”

“…”

Mu-Nyang ignored Pangu.

“I said… HOW DID YOU DO IT!? HOW DID YOU KILL MY WIFE?! I’m sure that none of us can use Qi over there!”

The star under Mu-Nyang was instantly destroyed. Mu-Nyang lost balance for a moment, and his physical body was cracked. However, his injuries were healed in a split second.

“That was a warning, munya. I’ve found your real body. You’re so high-profile that you made me cringe, munya. Why do you have to be so obvious?”

Pangu scoffed, “Then, come and kill my real body! What take you so long?!”

“And get myself killed by your bodyguard next to you, munya? Do you think I’m stupid?”

“I’ve been suspecting it for a while. Are you Miao Damao?!”

“Pfft! You’re stupid, munya. If I were him, I would have snapped your neck years ago! I wouldn’t have worked for you for decades!”

“…”

Pangu frowned as he still didn’t believe in Mu-Nyang’s words. But after pondering for a while, it was impossible for Miao Damao to be Mu-Nyang. After all, the guy had been with him before the creation of the first Pangu Online, aka the first Player Calamity. At that time, Mu-Nyang wasn’t even born yet!

Mu-Nyang coughed.

“Now that you know that I don’t like cheaters, you must compensate me and others! Your faction will be penalized, and I’ll decide the punishment, munya!”

Pangu gritted his teeth. He glared at the cat for a while before he lowered his head.

“Please spare my wife.”

“What did you say?”

Mu-Nyang leaned his ear closer to Pangu. He found it funny for Pangu to lower his head and beg him.

“Please spare my wife.”

“I can’t hear you, munya!”

“Spare my wife, please! Help her!”

“I’m so old that my ears have gone bad, munya. What are you hollering, munya?”

“HELP MY WIFE, PLEASE! I’M BEGGING YOU!”

Mu-Nyang smirked in satisfaction. He looked at Pangu in the eyes.

“All Mazingers will be removed from your faction forces, starting from today. You already have the number superiority, and you don’t need extra handymen from your family, munya.”

“Y-You… You villain!”

“We’re both villains, and you know it. You have no right to call me a villain, munya. Now, remove them, or your wife will become a vegetable at this rate. How many seconds has her heart stopped beating again, munya?”

“…”

Pangu gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. His eyelids trembled for a split second before he reopened his eyes.

“Done! Now, help my wife!”

Mu-Nyang turned to check the Player Faction and their people.

The giants that had been standing guard next to the portal to the medium realm had been disintegrated into dust. Now, only the players remained.

“Well, done, munya. Remember, no cheating! NYAHAHAHAHA!!”

“…”

Mu-Nyang snapped his fingers.

On earth, the fainted secretary coughed and spat a mouthful of black blood. Her heart beat again.

The paramedics reached Pan Xian’s wife. They carried her away, and the latter followed them to the hospital.

Miao Damao followed after them, but Pan Xian pushed him back.

“You motherfucker get out of the building. Don’t come near my family or me ever again!”

“But boss, how will I work as your bodyguard? I need to be near you and your family members.”

“Just protect me from afar! Remember, don’t come near my family again!”
