Chapter 2983 - Final Infinitum Duel
Chapter 2983 – Final Infinitum Duel
The Greenhill Fox was far more important to the clan than Yushan Taifeng was! Tianming’s assault had struck all of them where it hurt, cutting off a key pillar of their clan’s future.
All this time, the Greenhill Yushan Clan had thought that they’d picked the right side to join as Yi Daiyan rose to power. They were all too happy to see the sanctlighters and Central Shuntian Clan’s ships destroyed in her grand show of force, and all too excited to be the second largest regal clan in the Infinitum Bodhimanda. Some even thought themselves to be the strongest, since Yi Daiyan’s luxdaemons weren’t nearly as powerful as a clan. They were even graciously allowed to stay at Greenhill.
But they almost forgot that, after all the tribulations they’d faced, Tianming had played a pivotal role in saving them. Now that they had come to the Sun to repay kindness with malice, Tianming didn’t hold back. “This is karma! Do you think we’re pushovers just because I haven’t turned my astralship’s nightmarish might against you guys? You must be delusional if you think you can take us out on the Sun with your pathetic armada!”
His mockery came as a wake-up call for the millions of astral gods. They knew that the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb was powerful, but not to this extent. They had found out too late, and the Greenhill Yushan Clan could do naught but cry about it.
“Rex Mundi! Rex Mundi!” They were desperately looking for their master, placing their hopes in Yi Daiyan as they moved out of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb’s way. They all knew that Yi Daiyan could drive Tianming out of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb with the Infinitum Stele.
Even Yushan Taifeng, who escaped the explosion of his ship charred and in pain, cried out for his ruler. “Lin Feng’s already here! Why hasn’t he been killed yet?!” It was the best chance to get rid of Tianming.
As people were hoping for Yi Daiyan to render judgment unto him, she appeared as Tianming had predicted. A gigantic Infinitum Stele appeared above the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, descending and slamming into its rear, pushing it all the way down from the sky and pinning it to the ground. The enemies that had been fleeing so pathetically moments before wildly cheered.
“First Rex Mundi!”
“Yi Daiyan!” The five million astral gods shook the world as they called out her name.
Tianming looked ahead. Through the dust and smoke, he saw a white-haired woman dressed in a star-dotted black dress standing above the Infinitum Stele. Her colorful eyes seemed to let out a world-illuminating light, giving her even more presence than Mister Taihe and Demoness Yin had.
She had finally shown up! Millions of enemy ships and astral gods gathered behind her, cheering for her after the setbacks they had suffered while waiting for her appearance. Her vision pierced through the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, allowing her to spot Tianming. Her expression was cold in the storm. “Will you come out on your own accord or wait for me to come in and drag you out? Your choice.”
Tianming had changed quite a lot since he’d last seen Yi Daiyan, forcing her to reevaluate him. He was no longer the servile youth that had appeared before her not long ago. If he kept using his ship, the enemy would keep bombarding the Sky Palace Formation with their own ships, risking a breach. That was why Tianming wanted to settle this through a duel of the elite!
Nobody expected that the mouths of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb would open and a similarly white-haired youth in black-and-gold robes would emerge without another person by his side! His courage and the air around him stunned Yushan Taifeng and the rest.
They had thought that Tianming would never dare to step out like that, believing that the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb was his greatest trump card, not his own strength! Not too long ago, personal fighting capability was indeed Tianming’s greatest weakness. They didn’t understand where he got his courage from, remaining stunned as they watched him approach Yi Daiyan and the rest.
“How’s he so brave?”
“Did he hurt his head? Or is he growing delusional?”
“If we continue our assault against the Sky Palace Formation, he’ll no doubt be distracted when he faces off against the rex mundi! We can obtain victory on both fronts!” Many others echoed that sentiment. They wanted to press the attack now that Tianming had left the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb.
However, their plans were immediately halted. Yi Daiyan waved for them to step back. Yushan Taifeng had wanted to say something about it, but he noticed the cold look on Yi Daiyan’s face and decided against it. “Back off, everyone!”
Only two white-haired people were left. Those two had been mistakenly thought to be mother and child. They were both figures who had created miracles. Their murderous wills clashed as everyone around them watched.
Tianming’s right leg landed heavily on the ground, Lan Huang’s weight shaking the earth itself. His black and gold eyes met Yi Daiyan’s colorful ones. The goons behind her continued glaring at him, not knowing what he was trying to do. Some thought that he was going to beg for mercy.
Tianming raised the Grand-Orient Sword with one hand and pointed it at Yi Daiyan. “There’s no point in saying anything at this juncture. You once claimed the top spot in the Infinitum Bodhimanda by defeating Shenxi Xingtian, and you’ve come as its representative. So we should settle this with the rules and customs of the Infinitum Bodhimanda. Let’s duel! The winner shall be the ruler of the mundus, while the loser…” Tianming glared at the army behind her, “shall be sent to the yellow springs in the afterlife!”
It would be a duel to the death; not even Yi Daiyan’s duel against Shenxi Xingtian had ended that way. Many were shocked that Tianming would have that kind of courage.
“You’re a traitor! How can you claim to use our rules? Do you think that you’re even qualified to duel?”
“Rex Mundi, there’s no need to agree! Hold him back while we continue our bombardment! We’ll win even more that way!”
Many people beside Yushan Taifeng quietly whispered among themselves, yet no matter what they said, it wouldn’t sway Yi Daiyan’s decision. Her lips parted and she said, “As you wish.”
Tianming got his answer, but he wouldn’t blindly trust her. She had lied to Lin Mu and himself before. Even though she appeared grandiose and magnanimous, sudden trickery and betrayal had always been her forte!
“Then have your army retreat and power down their ships and descend to the ground!” Only then could Tianming duel without worry.
“Very well.” Yi Daiyan turned back and shot them a look.
Yushan Taifeng and the others wanted to say something, but they could do nothing but cave to her wishes when they saw her cold glare. Only when they were farther away from the battlefield than Xiaodao and the rest was she satisfied.
“Is this good enough for you?” The Infinitum Stele beneath Yi Daiyan’s feet shifted back into a black-and-gold sword flash as she descended from the air like a goddess. With Feiling out of the picture, she was the most graceful goddess there was. Tianming wasn’t surprised she had so many followers.
“I’ll be even more satisfied once you die here,” Tianming said. He didn’t want to waste any more words. Her last betrayal had already formed a blood grudge.
Yi Daiyan’s eyelids twitched for a second, but she quickly calmed down. “Infinitum Duel to the death!”
“To the death, and the winner rules!” Tianming said.
The trillions of people in the Sky Palace Formation eagerly awaited the start of the ultimate duel.
