Chapter 450 – 450: How Do You Know My Name?
The corners of her lips pulled down into a frown as she watched him disappear. He hadn't smiled, nor waved back. And from where she stood, she could only guess that he wore a confused expression. Luna wondered what went on in his head as her eyes reverted to the carriage.
The men had risen from their position, hastily rushing towards the carriage to hold the door open. Their heads were bowed in respect as they waited for whoever it was to step out of the box. Luna leaned forward curiously as she heard a shrill voice of protest from the polished vehicle.
Soon, a slender figure jumped out of the carriage, ignoring the extended hands of the men who were waiting on her. The girl was garbed in a soft pink gown with a layered skirt and delicate lace sleeves. Her soft brown hair was tied back in an elaborate French braid. Her small face reflected concern as she tugged on her heavy skirt, anxiously looking at the path Liam disappeared to.
A man soon followed behind her, shaking his head as he passed by the trembling men, trying their best to keep their eyes averted from the girl whose hands were now clenched in anger. She looked hardly sixteen, yet the way she held herself projected sheer power. The man reached out to pat her shoulders reassuringly, whispering something in her ears as he coaxed her forward slowly.
Luna watched the two of them curiously. The girl seemed to be irritated by his touch, but she was not slapping his hand away, her temper subsiding as she kept listening to him. It was obvious from the man's doting eyes, that he was in love with her. Any fool could see it. But who were they? And why did they look so familiar? The goddess wondered, her eyes following their every move.
That was when they stopped. Their heads turned in her direction in unison. Luna watched as the girl's eyes widen in surprise. The man lowered his eyes immediately, but the brown-eyed girl kept on staring at her, her gaze growing hostile with every passing moment. Luna raised her brows in amusement, a slow smirk sliding into her lips.
With an annoyed huff, the girl turned away from her, storming towards where she guessed was the entrance to the mansion. The man followed her hastily, not wasting a moment's time.
"I wonder what that was," the goddess murmured, shaking her head.
Just as she pushed herself away from the huge window, she heard a knock on the door. The stone lying flat against her chest pulsed, growing warmer with every second. And then, without a warning, it burst into a bright blue shade, the light seeping through the thick material of her dress like a beacon of desire.
The goddess gasped, quickly waving her hand over the stone in an effort to mask its brilliance. Her heart was thudding against her chest excitedly as the tall wooden panels pulled all of her attention towards it. Within seconds, the doors swung wide open, revealing a heavily panting man besides two others, who kept their heads bowed and their presence as minimal as possible.
The man in front of her was breathtakingly gorgeous. The white of his tunic and the rich black velvet of his coat contrasted against his tanned features. It made his deep green eyes stand out like emeralds with moonlight pushing through them. The thick brown waves that hung against his shoulders framed his chiseled face, making her hands itch to touch them.
He was finally standing before her in all his glory, with nothing to interrupt them. She had spent many nights thinking about what she would do when she would eventually be caught in such a situation. All of them surrounded the tingly feeling that was now spreading fast through her body towards the spot between her legs.
"Hey, Liam." She said, the corners of her lips lifting into a smile.
Liam's brows shot up in surprise. He quickly stepped into the room, closing the distance between them in a flash.
"How do you know my name?" He asked, his warm breath fanning against her forehead as he leaned towards her.
The goddess's smile grew wider at the proximity. There were hardly a few inches between them. She could feel the heat emanating off of his body. She bit her lower lip, trying to hold herself back from making any hasty moves. His every breath excited her, the sweet scent of the forest and honey filling her senses.
"Oh, I have my sources." She said, raising her eyes to meet his gaze.
Those eyes. She wanted to drown in that green sea. To dip herself inside him and never resurface, she thought, her breath growing heavy with the sweet warmth spreading fast between her legs. It was torture to hold herself back. But she did, seeing the way his eyes darkened with something that she couldn't comprehend.
"I don't want to know anymore," Liam said, stepping away from her quickly.
Luna chuckled, shaking her head. She didn't know what he was thinking about. But for some reason, she wanted to tease him more.
"I wasn't going to tell." She said with a shrug.
Liam's jaws clenched in irritation. He narrowed his eyes, as he asked, "Who-"
"Liam!" A familiar shrill voice exclaimed, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps.
Luna raised her brows as she watched the girl she had seen getting out of the carriage not long ago rushed towards the towering man in front of her, her face painted in worry and anger. She quickly grabbed Liam's hand, pushing herself against him as she glared at the goddess.
Liam seemed visibly disturbed by the touch. His gaze hardened as his eyes shifted from the girl hanging on his hand to the man who entered through the same wide doors in haste, his eyes growing wide at the sight before him. A low growl emanated from Liam's chest, making the girl shudder.
Stubborn as she seemed to be, the girl seemed to value her life. Gritting her teeth, she let go of his hand but refused to budge from the spot. Luna's expression was ice-cold.. So this was why the girl was glaring at her, she thought, finally seeing the love triangle developing before her.
